Mitch “Make him a one term President” McConnell? Mitch “Republican majorities in both chambers but not one single agenda item passed into law” McConnell? Mitch “Ted Cruz is still a thing and continues to wreak havoc even though we have every opportunity to marginalize him” McConnell?

That master?

I thought he was talking about The Master from Doctor Who…an insane, evil Time Lord. Which would explain A LOT about McConnell.

What you call chaos, your party now considers patriotism. They came here to shut things down, they came here to take hostages and bend the American system to their petty, selfish, racist ideals of what they consider real freedom is - basically “I got mine, Fuck you.” And you helped get them here, so, thanks and shut up and let them carry on with their little tantrums or you’ll be primaried and replaced as well.

Wow. Ever the establishmentarian…even going so far as to dis a fellow Mormon, though Chaffetz is probably less of a Mormon in his eyes since he came to the cult late in life. Besides, Jon Huntsman says Chaffetz is a total jerk and that’s probably enough for Hatch.

Halfway down the mountain, Little Oren wondered if getting in the toboggan had been a good idea…

I believe that Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell wholly agree with your assessment.

When they, eyeing their bank accounts, nevertheless saddle up for their “horserace” Rain Dance on the TeeVee.

I find it very interesting and extremely telling that two of the most prominent Utahan Mormon Republicans have whipped out the long knives and are aimed straight for Chaffetz’s back. Tells you what a shit he is. I fully expect Romney to issue a statement soon too.

“Just look at Sen. (Mitch) McConnell”

Ummmm…I’d REALLY rather not

Even given the Republican divide, politically, I find it fascinating that the two politicians that immediately came out against Chaffetz are both from Utah, and one was even his former boss. Says a lot about his character and his political prowess … but then again we are talking a teabagger.

I am willing to bet that if someone does some digging, Chaffetz has an issue or two outstanding with the Mormon Church. Questions about tithing being a classic example.

Because, as you say, its extremely rare (unheard of?) for Mormons to go after each other in the political spotlight like this. The Conventional Wisdom would make one think that the Church would want one of its members to attain such high ranking in the government. To have two other high profile members coming out with the knives is very odd indeed.

The stodgy, reptilian establishment RePubs, like McConnell and Boehner…worthy of the worst scorn and representative of the Old Line Repressive Establishment.

Until one sees the New Breed of Krazy. Like Cruz. Like Chaffetz.

Like Michael Corleone replacing Vito.
Like the young pharmaceutical overcharging maven just as rapacious as ANY old Oligarch

A cautionary tale for those who equate youth with mercy, age with mercilessness

I think its more like if Sonny had survived and replaced Vito.

“The more the House stays in chaos, the worse it will be,…” More? I don’t think you’ve been paying much attention Oren.

That was part of the reason it was so shocking when Harry Reid went after Romney the way he did. At least that made some sense being that they’re from different political parties and states. This, however, seems a bit more personal.

Chaffetz is a convert to Mormonism, which apparently came late in life. Wonder if that makes a difference as he is not one that was born and raised in the ‘religion’. Those that are born into it are probably the true progenitors of the faith. All others are welcome, but probably don’t have that “special brand” of true Mormonly saint-worthiness.

Mormons are pretty big on conversion, however. After all, they even “convert” people after they are dead. So I doubt that is what is at play here.

I had a couple of ex-Mormons tell me when I was spending time in Utah, that as soon as they leave the Church, regardless of it being kicked out or leaving voluntarily, they start showing up on their door steps immediately, trying to convince them to “re convert”.

damn, chaffetz is one unpopular dude… when the political leaders of his own fucking state and of the same party – and mormons – are warning against promoting him to leadership positions, you know this guy is one grade A dick.
