Good for her
I wish her attorney would ask for all the other texts from all the other FBI agents involved in the investigation.
My guess 2-1 against Hillary
They’ve been grasping at straws. It’s nice to see the straw grasp back. It’s pathetic that this is the best they can do–running in circles because two people didn’t like Trump. What’s it like to have no pride? I don’t think I would like it.
Does the FBI have policies about employees pursuing romantic/sexual relationships with each other within their workforce? Any former agents or employees out there?
It seems these two probably didn’t adversely affect or sway the investigation into all things Russia. But in a wide range of other investigations and issues I can see allegations of conflict of interest, prejudiced judgment, bias, et al being of legitimate concern.
Beyond what Page and Strzok are dealing with, did they break any FBI rules about inter-agency relationships?
Subpoena Rudy and make him testify under oath about his communicatons with current and former FBI agents related to Hillary issues. Let’s see his texts and e-mails.
Yes Please
…if only it was a REAL investigation and not a partisan hackfest
I don’t know about the FBI, but here in Kentucky state government, inter-office shenanigans are frowned upon but not subject to discipline unless there is a supervisory relationship involved. That gets people fired.
And while they are at it, they can question former Mayor Rudy about his years long affair with Cristyine Lategano, his first Communications Director. And then they can discuss the severance package that Rudy gave her when their relationship ended, by appointing her to a six figure salaried (taxpayer funded) job as the head of a City Agency in charge of coordinating permits for Television and Hollywood movie shoots on City streets.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) claiming in a statement that Page “has something to hide” and saying she had “no excuse” to not appear before the committee.
You’ll say the exact same thing when trump refuses to meet with Mueller, right Representative Goodlatte???
UGH! that is a totally totally different matter.
“fueled Republicans’ conviction that the Russia probe was politically motivated”
Nicole, the meaning of words is important. Do you believe the Republicans have “conviction” that the probe is politically motivated? I can think maybe “propaganda,” “accusation,” even “slander.”
I’m sure other words can come to mind, but I have conviction that that Republicans are simply trying to sway the beliefs of others.
I do wonder what is the CURRENT feeling of FBI agents about the Republican party. Any shifts going on?
Mueller’s lockdown, the total silence, is necessary but painful. It certainly gives the impression that these little squabbles on the GOP deck have weight.
I trust that when all is made known, the sudden enormity of the mass on the side of justice will capsize their ship.
It’s hard to endure the pretense of seriousness from the USS GOP this year tho.
I am curious about the legitimacy of a subpoena that comes from half a committee. If the Democrats did not approve issuing the subpoena, does it have the same force in law? I’ll bet a TPM-er can answer that.
Good for her. Talk about s ‘witch hunt’. They will let the Russians fk with the election and turn around and destroy a US CITIZEN for a text. Fkers.
The Democrats seem to be totally irrelevant at this point.
100%. and 2-1 against HRC is probably understating things on this front.
Well, the FBI has more “policies” than you can shake a stick at; and the DOJ gets into it, as does the OPM, and even the courts.
For example, certain FBI people in flagrante delicto have actually argued that they have a Fifth Amendment right and a Fourteenth Amendment right to engage in a personal relationship. Sure, but not while on government property, said a court in that particular case.
Plus, as you’d expect, there are umpteen rules about supervisors and supervisees, agents and informants, and so forth. And this being the FBI we are talking about, there have even been instances where superiors have sought out employees engaged in adulterous extra-marital adventures and pressured them to cease and desist.
The organization is authoritarian to its core; but on the other hand, the potential for blackmail and other genres of drama is real and … unwanted.
Doesn’t this expose Page to a charge of contempt of Congress? While contempt is what they richly deserve, if so, it would be just one more petty thing for the GOOPers to run around squawking about as they attempt to smear and deflect.
