Well, it was nice while it lasted, Lisa. GOP is as GOP does. Same as it ever was.
A lying, duplicitous, fraudster Republican. But I repeat myself.
cave: verb: capitulate or submit under pressure; cave in
Ah, yes, another patriotic Republican who doesnât want to cramp the âfreedomâ of not having insurance until she gets sick. What a true American, Lisa! Why donât you give up your tyranny of government insurance?
âI believe in making sure that 13 million Americans lose health insurance and that premiums skyrocket for the rest - as long as corporation and the ultra-rich get tax cuts.â
Letâs all, for a moment, reflect on what could actually be accomplished in this country if we had nationalized healthcare. The hours, the money ⌠ugh, forget it. Itâs too painful to contemplate.
I donât Twitter much and most have probably seen this but I really LOLâd:
Bill Kristol

@BillKristol
The GOP tax billâs bringing out my inner socialist. The sex scandals are bringing out my inner feminist. Donald Trump and Roy Moore are bringing out my inner liberal.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Happy Holidays from Senator Murkowski: Higher premiums, loss of coverage, and screwed on taxes! Merry Christmas, suckers! Huzzah!
*EDIT: And may I add (I would be remiss not to do so) a very merry fuck you very much to all the BernieBros who voted for Trump. Fuck you very much, losers!
What percentage of Alaskans are on Obamacare?
Not a good development. Sheâs playing some kind of game here, but I like Senators who donât play games.
Unfortunately, if Murkowski is wavering like this, I have to assume her vote on the final bill is âbuyableâ. I have to increase the chances of passage to 50%.
This bill is brittle though. It can break if ee need to turn our volume level up, but the sexual harassment stuff has eaten up too much of the news coverage. Starting to see some resistance for the first time today with the reaction to Murkowskiâs decision. We need to turn it way up. In 2018, weâre gonna see a lot of middle class families, especially those who have ever received any tuition assistance have higher tax bills and higher health care costs. Itâs a result that will cost the GOP the white vote in many states in this country, even ones they take for granted as red.
Murkowski has caved, Collins has signaled her willingness to cave (in exchange for a few trinkets). McCain has congratulated the Senate on following âregular orderâ with the tax bill (not following regular order was his main complaint about their Obamacare repeal efforts).
Sure is starting to look a lot like weâre headed for Senate passage of the GOP tax bill, quite possibly with the repeal of the mandate included.
This is not the worst thing about the bill, the entire bill is a fraud, a scam. It is NOT a tax cut. It is a tax HIKE for those who cannot afford it. Itâs only a cut for those who need it the least. It is the Ebenezer Scrooge bill. Merry Christmas!
Hey Lisa Murkowski - F$%K YOU AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON!
Itâs called being human, Bill. Um, congrats on discovering it?
âŚ
When you consider the chaos in the insurance markets that will result, itâs hard to believe that Reps would repeal the mandate while leaving the rest of the ACA in place. Itâs only the long history of people in positions of power doing really stupid things that convinces me theyâll do it.
I donât know what motivates thisâideology, funding, constituent demands, or what. Iâve argued (ahem) I mean discussed this subject with neighborhood good 'ol boys who want to know why you have to get insurance; the idea offends them. Iâve explained that itâs how they keep the costs down, itâs how insurance works, basically, and itâs the only way if you want to keep it private. They didnât seem persuaded. Anyway, the thing is, Republicans gonna Republican, even if they did something you like last month. Excuse me got to go scream at my own Republicans for a while.
Sheâs relatively safe doing this. Her state collects NO taxes, sales or income, from itâs people. The loss of the state tax deduction will not be felt in Alaska. As far as â13 million people losing their healthcareâ GOPâers donât give a damn nor do they have to. Thatâs not enough people to have much political impact and given that Americans were dumb enough to put GOPâers in power across the land and watch them entrenched themselvesâŚwhile sitting idly byâŚwhy should they care?
Dream on if you think this is going to hurt the GOP. It isnât. Itâs just going to hurt Americans that Congress doenât give a shit about.
I take it you asked how much money theyâre saving from car and home-owner insurance as they are totally optional.
Oh, waitâŚ
Lucy finally showed up to yank the football away again
Did Mitch throw her some goodies exclusive to Alaska?
