Graham wonāt be president. That recent PPP poll of favorability ratings among GOP likely primary voters showed Graham pretty negative. Maybe not Christie levels of negative and I donāt know why heās viewed negatively, probably not for the reasons he should be. But Republicans have a load of candidates where they do feel positive that they donāt need to consider the ones they donāt like. Graham probably knows this and is just yelling āsomeone look at me!ā

Yes to all of those, but not a mistake.
Lindsay and McCain were the Senatorial bookends for the Bush Administration in the run up to War and during the War. They practically had permanant seats on the Sunday morning talk show circuit. They were as wrong as Tenent, Fieth, Wolfowitz, Addington, Rice, Kristol, and Cheney and Bush themselves. They knew, along with all the neocons that the premise was laced with lies, but they were such champions of the War then, it is impossible for Lindsay to back track now and appear to have any smarts left at all. Knowing what Lindsay knew then makes him every bit as much of a War criminal as Bush and Cheney. They all sent people to slaughter for politics. As an ordinary citizen, I read the reporters from Knight Ridder as they debunked every claim made by Bush et al and knew the country was being misled. It was all there if you looked. Sadly, our politicians have little to no courage.

Think of Lindsay Graham as the GOPās version of Bernie Sanders: heās in it to promote issues of vital important to the American people, namely: the political future, comfort, prospects, and power reach-over of one Lindsay Graham.
This is more funny than stupid, that RNCās system is so readily exploitable by a pol as nakedly self-centered as Graham. He knows perfectly well that thereās a bunch of neocon PNAC Kristol-activated war machine seed money available for the promotion of this particular message, and that as a candidate whoās not so much interested in winning the nomination (which for him is impossible under any conditions, which he well knows), that between now and somewhere up to and perhaps including the South Carolina primary he can do some very LindsayGraham-positive good for the cause and chiefly for his own ability to get and stay on the Sunday TV pol talk shows once McCainās gone.
And I for one welcome our new Lindsectoid overlord: for MOST of the clown car process, heāll be right up there in the front honking his horn and playing grab-crotch with the rest of that ridiculous bunch. Plus weāll be greatly entertained by the Lindsay Reach-Around, where Graham holds the inevitable massively disingenuous press conference to concede his crusade (he may even use the word) is over and heās shutting it down and saying heās ābeen tickled pink by all the countless/millions of wonderful American supporters who have had my backā (woo - possible word-for-word prediction there, scientifically testable) and ask them to support Governor [X], (with whom Graham will have made a deal to become SoS should said current or former Governor X be elected preznit).
All in all, Grahamās will end up being BY FAR the Most Honest Clown Campaign and besides that win the Poodle category in a mince-over.

Technically, Saddam was a stabilizing force in the region (some might have questioned his methodology). If he hadnāt messed with Bush Senior, his son would have been happy to let Saddam slaughter anyone necessary (mainly Muslims anyway) to keep the peace in the region and keep oil flowing.

Al Malaki, former PM of Iraq, refused to sign onto us leaving troops in Iraq. Thatās why we didnāt leave Lindseyās coveted 10,000 troops behind. Further Graham saying if we sent those 10,000 now the Iraqis would then have an army trained up in short order. Thatās pure fucking fantasy. We HAD 150,000 troops there for 10+ years and STILL the Iraqis cannot field an army worthy of that title. We had advisers there training these guys And now they drop their weapons and run like the dickens when the Black Flag folks show up. many of those commanding ISIS troops are Sunni former officers in Saddamās army. Paul Bremmer when he was in Iraq dissolved Saddamās officer corpsā¦ fired 'em all. With nothing else to do they joined al Qaida in Iraq which morphed into ISIS. Essentially then we trained the folks who are commanding the ISIS troops on the ground there.

Any comment on his comment should go straight for the comedy, because he canāt really be serious. How can anyone, no matter what they originally felt about the reasons for going into Iraq claim that it was anything but a colossal failure, let alone a āmistake?ā

What a formula: take out the buffer between the Saudi-funded religious monsters and the Iran-funded religious monsters; destroy the livelihoods of millions of people; flood the region with weapons and unaccounted-for cash; make noises about a Crusade; send in out-of-control mercenaries; use recent graduates with āCollege Republicansā on the resume to run the economy; then stand back and watch the rock-hard stability form in the region.
