Discussion: Lindsey Graham Blames Al Gore For GOP's Climate Change Apathy

Algore is showing some optimism; he knows a thing or two about this topic.
Why shouldn’t we be optimistic?

Oh Linda Grahm says if it wasn’t for Al Gore the Republicans would be reasonable?

Oh Linda you old Queen you. Lying is in the GOP DNA.

What is the environmental platform of the Republican Party? I don’t know, either," he said.

The republican platform on climate change, if I’m led to believe by all accounts, is that it doesn’t exist. But I still find it funny that Graham has the huevos to try to blame Al Gore for his inability to believe it. So if St. Reagan had spoken from atop Mt. Sinai and said it existed, suddenly it would be a “religious” issue for you?

Al Gore hasn’t held public office for 15 years, yet he is the reason you and your ignorant buddies can’t deal with climate change?

Well, except that no one should want to hear a cabbage sextet sing opera; the sound is so thin and watery (it ain’t exactly Pavarotti and Fleming, et.al.).

On the other hand, expecting substantive policy discussions from the party that controls both houses of Congress doesn’t seem that much to ask.

I have thought for a long time that when the republics finally had to admit the truth about Global Warming that they would find a way to blame liberals.
They are a carbon copy of wife beaters excuse, blaming the woman for their own bestial actions.

If you’re a leader of the Republican party, and you claim the party has no policy or plan regarding something, in this case Climate Change, isn’t that a pretty poor reflection on you? Isn’t that what leadership is all about? Who, exactly, are you trying to blame? Al Gore had a plan and some ideas, but somehow he’s responsible for you having none? Jeebus, just when we think the hole can go no deeper, they start digging again.

He must have twisted himself into a pretzel to come to that conclusion!

Oh, let’s face it - he was not a very telegenic candidate - he appeared stiff, he spoke in a slow, sing-song manner, he used big words and long sentences. He was easy for the opposition to mock.

All of that made not a whit of difference to me, of course. I enthusiastically supported him and despaired when the SCOTUS appointed the dummy. After the election debacle, was history, I greatly respect the way he made the best use of his name recognition and influence to raise awareness of climate change and do good in the world.

Watch out Lindsey. They burn heretics; ya’ know?

Over the last number of years, as he tries to keep up with the right wingers, he descends further and further down the rabbit hole. Lindsey can’t get through his head that most people who take global warming seriously are evidence based. In the last year alone, I have read hundreds of pages on global warming and alternative energy and the problems of oil without running into something said by Al Gore. He was an important voice but only one of hundreds.

Poor Lindsey, he just can’t keep up. At one point, he looked like he was going to be one of the better Republicans. But like the current crowd funded by right wing money, he can’t govern and can’t figure out what’s going on.

More like saying that Lindsey is, umm, not married to a woman because of RuPaul, or what the hay, Rand Paul.

So Al Gore, who has always had a keen interest in science and technology put his head to the grindstone, learned as much as he could from the world’s more gifted scientists, made an award winning movie to inform the world of the eminient dangers and it’s all his fault that the GOP buried it’s head in cement and to this day will not collectively acknowledge what every educated person in the world believes; that climate change is made worse by man. Why is it always someone elses fault when you are a Republican?

It’s ironic that Lindsey, having been in the military, seems unwilling to mention that there are admirals and generals currently serving as well as those who are retired who take global warming seriously and who can talk intelligently about the problems and the solutions.

If Lindsey ever says he accepts the reality of global warming and follows it with an intelligent comment, it should be in bold headlines.

I actually find his honesty a bit surprising and even refreshing. He is openly admitting what we all know - that Republicans will oppose things that liberals and Democrats support, for no other reason than to piss them off or just be different. It sort of goes to the nature of the conservative mindset, I guess, but it is rare to hear such an admission.

“I said that it’s real, that man has contributed to it in a substantial way,” Graham continued.

Not the point Senator. The SCIENTISTS say that it is real and that we are the cause.

I blame Lindsey Graham and his GOP party for being stupid about climate change.

What an incoherent pile of gibberish from yet another GOP Presidential wannabe. Go back to your fainting couch, Lindsay, and dream about wars without end, your favorite subject. Sheesh.

Just a minor quibble: It’s been 35 years since Saint Reagan declared a War on the Environment, which is intimately tangled with his War on Education. You have to dismantle the entire education system to create a voting base stupid and ignorant enough to pretend climate change doesn’t exist.

And Ronald Reagan is the grandfather of those wars. Nail that albatross to his neck with railroad spikes and never, ever let any Republican forget it.

And speaking of religions, let us examine the whoreship of Saint Ronnie, the President That Wasn’t There. The entire cult that has sprung up around that abomination is exactly the voting base that we are fighting against today, 35 years later, now entering its second generation of stupid and ignorance.

Coincidentally, one in four Americans believe that the Sun revolves around the Earth.

Don’t believe me? Google it up. It’s vomit-inducing.

Thank you , Ronald Reagan. Thank you, Republicans.
