Democratic senators introduced a bill this week aimed at changing what former Attorney General Eric Holder once called the āunacceptableā lack of data on the subject of police shootings.
Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Cory Booker (D-N.J.) on Tuesday introduced the Police Reporting of Information, Data and Evidence Act (PRIDE), which would require states to report to the Justice Department any time a law enforcement officer is involved in a shooting and any instance where an officer or a civilian is seriously hurt or killed as a result of the use of force. States would also have to report details like the age, race and location of any victims; whether or not the civilians present were armed; and how many civilians and officers were involved.
The NRA will see to it this dies in committee.

Iām a political junkie and Iām not even sure what party heās running under. He was a long time New England Republican, then I think was Governor as an Independant and I donāt know what he is now. Can anyone let me know?
Edited to say heās evidnetly running as a Democrat. God knows why. Also, he looks amazingly like Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad.
In his first attempt, the poor guy is already being spoken of in the same half-pitying, half-amused way people talked about Harold Stassen on his fourth, back in the day.

This is an EXCELLENT way to demonstrate that Chafee is qualified to address policy and tech. The masteryā¦ the competenceā¦ itās all out there for everyone to see!
The Foundation I work for has had a fair amount of interaction with Ms. Chafee and I can say, that while she comes off as a little boneheaded in this coverage, she is a very intelligent and nice person. While I wonāt support Chafeeās run for the nomination, he is one of the few entirely decent and ācleanā pols around.
