There are a lot of paranoid people in the GOP who buy into every conspiracy theory imaginable and this guy just lit the kindling. It’s not quite to the level of yelling “fire” in a crowded theater, but it’s certainly irresponsible. I don’t think the election will be close, but if it is, he just made it easy for the fringe people on the right to resort to violence when they don’t get their way. Why am I not surprised?

I think there’s more here than meets the eye. Limbaugh is telling a bunch of gullible listeners violence on the part of the Left is a forgone conclusion. His listeners are expected to connect the dots and assume THEY will be the objects of that violence, the ones to suffer. The next step, obviously, is to beat the Left to the punch and hit them first. Limbaugh is encouraging his listeners to be proactive, don’t be victims, do unto others before they do unto you. That’s Limbaugh’s message.
