He wants to keep his name in the news, huh.

Probably couldn’t get the votes for confirmation.

Maybe they could move the Sunday talk shows to Saturday.

Al Gore gave us Joe Lieberman and John McCain gave us Sarah Palin.

Both huge mistakes.

He recognized a conflict of interest (perceived or real) and made a decision to prevent it from becoming an issue? DEFINITELY not T-Bag material! LOSER!

Nah, he knew he wouldn’t get confirmed anyway. Not only do the Dems remember him clearly, they can make enough noise about ‘oh, so you fire the FBI Director. Then you retain Kasowitz to defend you—and let’s remember, you never reatain a member of a law firm, you retain the firm. All of the interns, paralegals, top to bottom, it’s all one financial entity. So then… you take this law firm you just retained, and make noise about putting one of your own lawters in as the new FBI Director. Yeah. That’s gonna make for awesome TV,… won’t it, Mitch?’

This is so not a weathervane. This is Holy Joe’s old buddy Dead-Stick McCain reaching out to say ‘For the love of lobbyist money, Joe, don’t completely screw the Republican Party here…’

Oh happy day! Oh happy day!

Stay away, Joe. Please.

“Lieberman said “it would be best to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest,” given that he is a partner at the same law firm as Kasowitz.”

HELLO !!!

“Donald Trump seemed to have found a novel way to not only get the Senate to confirm his pick for FBI Director, but to essentially put his own lawyers in charge of both sides of the Trump-Russia investigation: he was going to appoint former Senator Joe Lieberman as Director. But that plan has now officially gone down in flames.”

I don’t think, it will be attractive to accept a position Joe Fucking Lieberman wouldn’t have ?

He can’t rank very high in the foodchain …

When the stench is too much even for Holy Joe Lieberman, you know you’ve got a hot stinky mess.

Yep. I think McCain and Graham couldn’t quite imagine that Trump would just rely on one of his personal lawyers, so didn’t foresee the conflict.

On the other hand, Trump’s decision makes sense. I don’t think he can afford to bring in someone not already acquainted with his financial malfeasance and fraud as that will likely be a large chunk of charges, if they’re made.

Mark my words, Jared will be the next director of the FBI.

Most of the shows tape everything but breaking news segments on Saturday. Clueless Joe has special dispensation to do them because there’s no actual work involved … sorry @Millet

He definitely couldn’t - Politico basically reported he would face a shitstorm of opposition from Dem, who remember him all too well. Not to mention any FBI confirmation is going to raise a whole host of uncomfortable questions for the Hair Furor and his associates no matter who he nominates. But Holy Joe would have gotten housed.
