I have a neighbor who has claimed to a a Libertarian. After spending some time talking issues my conclusion was that he was not about liberation.
He is a Corporate Feudalist.

Itā€™s fair. We are doing the same thing in the Alaskan governor race. Itā€™s a setback but democracy is still the right system. Letā€™s focus on getting out the vote. Everybody gets a voice, even these stupid people.

Most Goldwater fans have a certain willful blindness that insist on debating only in a world of political theory where actual historical examples and facts are not allowed to enter. It reminds one of science under Aristotle where conclusions must be reached on logic alone and experiments and observation were forbidden. The end results are about as useful and are doggedly adhered to.

I honestly donā€™t think most libertarians have the cognitive capacity to understand the consequences of what they push for. Or maybe part of being libertarian is that they donā€™t care or donā€™t think it would affect them.

That probably wonā€™t work. Nate Silver is currently projecting that Tester gets about 52.2% of the vote (85% chance of winning) with Rosendale at 45.1% and Breckinridge, the Libertarian, at 2.6%.

Thatā€™s before Breckinridgeā€™s drop out is factored in. I donā€™t know how Nateā€™s going to handle that, but I reckon itā€™s not going to change his projection by very much.

Every single ā€œLibertarianā€ I know here in East TN is just a REPUG by any other name. They use the ā€œLibertarianā€ line solely because they are ashamed at the REPUG antics. However, if you take the time to talk and especially listen to them they are 100% REPUG in their reasoning and responses.
