LePage was the GM of a surplus store in Maine before getting into politics. He has always been known as a cheapskate. The fact he wouldn’t release the FOIA records spoke volumes about what he did or didn’t know. He knew where he was staying, and he didn’t give a rats fanny what it cost. I suppose the desk clerk could let their guests know the room rates when they check in. I suspect Hotel Emoluments plays along with their guests’ wishes to appear to remain innocently uninformed. LePage should know that even at the rate he overpaid, it didn’t make a blip on the WH radar.
