Discussion: Lee Joins Other GOPers In Announcing Vote Against Trump's Emergency Declaration

REIN in, not “reign.” Otherwise, good report; too bad Trump will stamp his little feet and threaten a veto. Anything that brings him closer to apoplexy is good with me.

I suppose we are trying to rain a bit on Trump’s reign. The more Republicans who vote against the emergency, the better. I will even accept the bizarre sense I get to have Lee be on the same side of an issue that I am.

Weird. Seeing as how Lee’s nose is continually eight inches deep into Cruz’s rectum, I wonder if Cruz will be doing so as well?

Remember Cruz? We used to get gushing articles about what a genius he was.

Send Pence to try to find a solution (fruitless effort, as always, because Trump’s gonna always backfire on them), Lee takes the lead for something ridiculous and embarrassing (allow defying the constitution this 1 time - with the “promise” not to do again).

Usually the third step is usually that the senator or rep put on the spot to embarrass himself (per taking an untenable stand to protect the president), wilts and goes along after stabbed in the back by Trump. Very interesting that this time the senator put on the spot - (at least temporarily) steels the spine to now stand against.

Very interesting development and change in the script that we have watched unfold over the past two years.

Don’t get too excited about the spotting of spines on Republican Senators. There are 53 Republican Senators and only 6 vissable spines.

Very good point. This is a change that may not bode well for Trump. If lacky Lee is growing a pair who knows?

Rein means pure or clean in German. My mother’s name. Nothing about this stuff qualifies.

I predict he’ll love this whole veto thing and try to veto SNL, Hillary, lawsuits, and Robert de Niro. He’ll probably also tweet about how he vetoed Stormy Daniels real good.

I don’t expect anything. I just find it interesting when then there is a veer off script. I won’t get excited until the veer off script (by different folks) becomes the new script. But I don’t really expect that to happen. Or at least no time soon.

This is hilarious! Kudos.

We’re only 2 months into a new Dem majority in the House. The fun is only starting. As the scandals, verdicts and indictments accumulate and as 2020 comes more into focus, spines will be grown where none previously existed.

Don’t worry, there is only one spine. They’ve just miraculously fit six people on it when there is usually only room for 2-3.

Thankfully, Trump really is that petty and incompetent. Otherwise, this would have been much more difficult. Its not everyday that a President whips the vote within his party against himself.

That’ll teach the Dotard to accept helping hands. Well if Lee actually follows through, which is not a given, mormoms are as trumptards as evangelicals.

As someone said earlier on the other thread about this, Rump just can’t take “yes” for an answer.

It’s time to be honest.

It’s not 5 billion or 8 billion of our dollars.

It’s a lot more than that for something we don’t need. Republicans are bleeding us.

Mrs. Dibble and I are wondering if Sen. Romney will vote no along with compadre Lee?

Of course, he may just be stupid enough to sign the bill instead of the veto. Any bets?
