To be fair, any insult suffered by DJT is the greatest grievance any man has endured, because it’s predicated on that man having to endure being Donald Trump.

The number that have compromised themselves along the way may be quite large and include Capitol Hill politicians and at least a few affiliated PACs. I’d prefer to find out how vast this. Mueller and his team ought not to limit the scope.

Watergate had 40 officials indicted or jailed. If this spreads to the private sector, you could be looking at hundreds. And if you have accomplice liability attaching it could even get young guns like Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan. There are several super-rich families implicated, notably the Mercers. You might have to open up a special prison. I don’t think Jared will do as good as his dad in jail.

The hearing with Comey’s testimony will mostly be about Susan Rice and her unmasking request. Then Comey will agree that Trump’s request was not obstructive in nature. Dershowitz explains:
“For a president – and tone is everything – that’s why the memo has to be seen and that’s why, if there are tapes, we should hear them,” Dershowitz told Anderson Cooper on CNN.
"If the president politely suggests to the director of the FBI: ‘He’s a good guy, [Michael] Flynn. I would appreciate if you let him off the hook. I fired him.’
“That doesn’t become” a case of obstruction of justice," he said.
If Comey was that nonpartisan guy many seem to think he is, we’d have Hillary Clinton in the White House. Comey passed that fork in the road long ago and has traveled too far down it to turn back now. I wouldn’t doubt he suggested his own firing. Not saying he did, it just would not surprise me if he wanted out.
ETA: Does anyone think the Republicans would set up this hearing with Comey if they did not have an assurance from Comey beforehand that he will agree with favorable tone Dershowitz mentioned?

Interesting Carter Page interview at the top of CBS’ 8am hour this morning…
After Charlie and Nora open, the strange Carter Paginess of the interview begins as Gayle King asks her first question…as she says “cease and desist” while the camera displays a medium shot of Page, a strange stomach gurgle (from Page I assume) is audible. This gurgle became the most factual noise Page made in an interview where rapid questioning illuminated the odd lies of this strange little attention-seeking man who mainly fingered Dick Nixon’s son-in-law Ed Cox as his entrée to Trump World this morning…
