“Considering.” This maladministration doesn’t “consider” anything. They just do. And then undo. And make messes.
Current opinion among some is Pelosi-Schumer rolled Trump on DACA. However, there’s talk Dems dangled cooperation on future issues if DACA was preserved. And getting it passed in Congress will certainly involve some concessions on the front side in tandem with its passage.
Now, say a fireman torches a business. Then shows up and puts out the fire. The city congratulates him on his feat and gives him an award. Would we say the fireman got rolled?
Trump rescinds DACA. Then offers to help reinstate it. For that the DEMS and others give kudos for his cooperation and compassion, and cede ground on future issues. And it’s Trump that got rolled? All he did was start a fire and then help put it out. WTF?!
While it is unrealistic … perhaps this could serve as a teachable moment for them. Making policy requires understanding the ramifications of said policy before one enacts it, in order to actionable policy. Only think for a millisecond that it is teachable, because of his laughable tweets that suggest HE is for the Dreamers, despite the fact that HE took the action to put the Dreamers (adults) into such a precarious situation,
Then again my other immediate response to those tweets is: there is an unprecedented idiot sitting in the White House.

Remember that there was (is) also a court case challenging the legality of Obama’s executive order creating DACA. It is not clear it would have prevailed.
It would have been interesting to see played out. Either the DOJ joined the case with the states, or took the adversarial position the Executive’s immigration authority allowed Obama’s DACA action. Joining the state suits would be at odds with Trump’s similar claims of Executive authority over immigration, vis-a-vis his Muslim ban. I’d like to have seen Trump and his DOJ square that circle.
They are trying desperately to figure out how to walk back this disaster, but they don’t really have any way out.
Yeah, undoing the election isn’t an option I guess.

Trump has been sympathetic toward DACA recipients in the past and tweeted Thursday questioning whether anyone actually wants to deport the 800,000 young people who were brought to the U.S. “through no fault of their own.”
There was a guy who signed an executive order to allow such deportations to resume. Ask him.
