Discussion: Lawyer For San Bernardino Gunman's Family Floats Sandy Hook Trutherism

Discussion for article #243438

What - where the hell did they get this guy. He sure isn’t going to help matters and why does the family need a lawyer. What am I missing here?

There won’t be any S.B. truthers, because the shooters were Muslim.

Daily Mail. Rupert Murdoch. Yup. The usual suspects.

“There was a lot of questions drawn with regards to Sandy Hook and whether or not that was a real incident or not. We just don’t know,” Chesley said,

We don’t know if Sandy Hook was a real incident? Why don’t we? Are we fucking nuts?

Maybe he found his way to them. I’d certainly be talking to a competent lawyer myself, since I imagine they could be looking at a lot of questions about negligence. What kind of moonshine this guy is selling them God only knows.

The Mail reported that Chesley, asked directly if he questioned the attack at Sandy Hook, said: “There has been a lot [sic] speculation about it is all I would say.”
Regarding the weapons cache police said was recovered after the shooting, which included more than 1,400 rounds of ammunition and 12 pipe bombs, Chesley said: “Obviously, these things were found there, how they got there we don’t know.”
In the video, the attorney also suggested there is “a lot of motivation at this time to emphasize or create incidents that will cause gun control…"

***Obviously a Trump University graduate.***

And here is the deal:

The photos of those kids lying dead in their classroom - we know they exist - should be plastered on the front page of every newspaper and blog in the country. It is the only way to confront this horror.

Same for the casualties in San Bernardino. We should have to see those images. It would take this argument out of the abstract and into the real world.

We are all to blame and we all should see the results. Perhaps then we could begin to understand and deal with this madness. And hopefully that will happen before you or I or my child or your child is shot dead where we stand.

And it would also put an end to stupidity such as this.

Civil suits by survivors will require some sort of representation in court on the part of the accused (yet deceased). Insurers may be involved. There could be properties or assets unknown that represent compensation to the dead and survivors. Book and movie rights could get involved. There are likely dozens of reason for the accused’s estates to be represented.

Exhibit A for the argument for closing 75% of law schools. It’s just too goddamn easy to get your bar ticket these days.

Also, they need someone to negotiate the TV and magazine and book contracts when they sell their story about how they raised a terrorist. As Trump has demonstrated, there is no such thing as shame in America these days.

I hate to say it but those images wouldn’t even scratch the paint on those conspiracy theorists’ capacity to deny reality. They already talk about actors and how one of the children was at a ceremony afterward and on and on. They think the forces arrayed against them are infinitely evil, all-powerful, and pervasive.

Yeah, all those little babies and their teachers: not really dead.

I suppose before someone plants a flag on the moral high ground they should ask themselves if they’d set fire to a winning Powerball ticket because it was a found dollar that bought it, not one they’d earned.

They can call Trump’s buddy Alex Jones as an expert witness. That should go well.
