Conyers will likely not run for re-election. Resigning is not an option as MI has GOP governor who would designate who to seat. That’s not going to happen.

There are a lot of others who have spent money as Conyers did to settle workplace complaints. While I agree with it being egregious…it does not overshadow his tenure and legacy. There is well over 17 million dollars from Office of Compliance that has been spent in the same manner. All the others need to be exposed on this misuse of tax payer funds as well. 84K was spent by Rep Farenthold alone for sexual harassment settlement. So, if we are going to beat the drum let’s march out all the frogs…not just the oldest member of congress.

I remember when Obama was going to run for president and democrats said that they were going to take the high ground and not have a negative campagn they began with the democratic convention then republicans followed with nothing but mud slinging. I don’t know the back story on Conyers so I can’t say if what he is said to have done should lead to him resigning. I definitely don’t want to wait for republicans to do the right thing first because that will NEVER happen. I don’t want our message to women to be that we only care about them if the other team abuses them.
