Entered an area passing a no trspassing sign, that seems to be unlawful. These women also brought a gun with them a when confronted with language that firearms were forbidden sent the boy (like 5 years old or something) back to the car with it. So not only did they see the signs but were able to comprehend them. I am guessing it is not considered negligence to give a child a (loaded?) handgun in AZ.

Can we call this the “Free Speech” bubble defense? All you have to do to get away with committing a crime is film yourself making politically charged statements while doing it. How convenient!

I hope the AZ prosecutor is better than the Federal putz who let Ammon “Bag of Dicks” Bundy get away with his little armed rebellion inside the Malheur Wildlife Refuge.

Yesterday, I drove 100mph in a 55mph zone. I told the cop who pulled me over that I was making a statement about man’s inhumanity to man. He was skeptical.

Proving once more that there is one way to spell “crAZy”.

There’s actually supreme court dictum on this very issue. Can’t remember which judge (the con law course was 40 years ago) commented that engaging in a valid political discussion wouldn’t protect someone from a charge of public lewdness.

I do wonder about burglary as the charge, but I guess it’s in the details of the statute wording.

We don’t have enought defense attorneys for all the people we throw in jail, but there’s always a lawyer for bigots like these. Its a sad statement about our nation.

I pray that they are not neighbors of mine and that includes the lawyer.

Yeah? I was arrested for running a death camp for people with uni-brows. My lawyer explained that I was merely expressing myself, and I got off scott free!

I am going to guess that (1) burglary is a felony and trespass and vandalism are misdemeanors; (2) the Maricopa County DA takes this seriously and wants to send a message pour les outres.

Hence the somewhat inflated charges.

Bung *em in jail for desecration .

I’d also mention that, yes take the material, but take one not all available. You also do not take material that has been posted, especially by ripping it down. That type of “free speech” is not given a pass.

Yep, the “they wanted people to take the material” one has long been settled, mostly in the context of competitors trying to prevent the distribution of free newspapers.

They should also be charged with child abuse for what they did to their children.
