Yes, today Kobach is the larger menace. Though Adams was in the Civil Rights Division of the Bush the Lesser DOJ, so he’s been a greater menace in the past and could certainly rise up again in the future.
This is exactly how this behavior must be countered. We must make it economically untenable to slander libel innocent people for political gain. This behavior will continue so long as those who do this get a pass and don’t pay a price.
Adams has also been acting on the national stage by the extortion racket linked in the story. His organization targets states and local jurisdictions that don’t have the money to fight voting-rights lawsuits (or that have people in authority who want purges for their own reasons).

A Federal judge Friday cleared Broward Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes in a lawsuit that accused her office of facilitating voter fraud.
Nice. Especially after yesterday, when everyone from ABC to the NYT (CNN excepted, good for them) published Megan Tierney’s scoop about the execrable Ezra Cohen-Watnick’s new job at DoJ without attribution.
They must be held accountable and it must be with actual jail time. Voting rights are too important to loose and these people strike at the heart of our democracy. Fines will not touch them.
In the third paragraph of this story is the confusing phrase “falsely mislabeled …” Perhaps this would be more clearly rendered as “falsely described.”
Wait, he said that this is all publicly-available information. Since when are voter’s SSN public information?
