This same guy that is running in this very election, that accused Dems of hacking into the voter system will now oversee the vote count. Somebody wake me up when all these people have been launched into space.
They should have filed this a while ago on general principle, especially once it became apparent that Kemp was going to use his office to help himself win. It should actually be a law that the person who oversees an election should be non-partisan, and definitely not any part of an active campaign they oversee, whether as a candidate, campaign staff, or even donor. It’s only fair to run things that way, it should be obvious how easy using that position to cheat is…no wonder Republicans keep doing it.
Discovery is going to be a real bitch for Mr. Kemp.

One could argue filing 2 hours before the polls close is pretty damned late. But maybe the timing is intended, to put some fear of the law into them just before the shenanigans happen. Perhaps Kemp et al didn’t plan for this.
I’m not sure why, but that is my guess. It’s tactical.

From what I’ve read the outrageous corruption and incompetence on display here brings the entire Georgia election’s validity into question.
as one poster here put it, GA is likely blue-ish but darker forces keep the truth from seeing the light.

The emergency legal papers were filed at 5 PM today on behalf of five Georgia voters: LaTosha Brown, Jennifer N. Ide and Katharine Wilkinson of Fulton County, Candace Fowler of Dekalb County, and Chalis Montgomery of Barrow County. They are represented in the matter by the nonpartisan nonprofit Protect Democracy, former United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia Michael J. Moore of Pope McGlamry, and former Department of Justice Voting Rights Section attorney Bryan L. Sells of the Atlanta Law Office of Bryan L. Sells.
