The editing is clumsy and amateurish, too—totally obvious.
Not that it’ll slow down the rush to judgement by the witless right-wing moralists who are determined to destroy women’s reproductive rights and women’s rights in general.
Most of the opposition to abortion is really opposition to women being sexually active.
Conservatives see sexual activity by women as dirty, immoral, and indicative of a too-permissive society.
They feel this way because they’re all such sick fucks.
You know Mr. VonHolst, I don’t know if I could either, except if someone were mistreating a child or an animal, then I would have no problem because I would be reacting.
Oh, so correct! (Thinking, thinking). Then I’ll just use my old stand-by: A long, very wide, very prickly sharp, very strong cactus up his asshole … since he’s a Republican, I know he’s got one of those. The key is to use a speculum first – to open him up a bit, so to speak. Then once cactus is in place, release.
David Daleiden has been trying to destroy Planned Parenthood for nearly his entire life. Yesterday, some thought he succeeded.
According to a cached version of a now-deleted bio that appeared on the website for Live Action Films—affiliated with a youth-focused anti-abortion organization that was led then, as it is now, by current Live Action president and noted undercover activist Lila Rose—Daleiden was a speech and debate enthusiast who started a pro-life club at his high school.
So they know about it but didn’t do anything because they were coordinating the announcement with the sleazeball video producers to maximize the media impact. Great.
If this really is evidence of an ongoing crime as serious as they say, why would they sit on it?
You gotta wonder about these “pro-life” lunatics. They hate abortion so much that they’re willing to use fraud to shut down the nation’s single largest provider of devices that make abortion unnecessary.
They’re worried about PP donating fetuses? I’m worried about the Republicans who have clearly donated their brains.
I was gonna reply but others have explained the situation quite effectively. Having been here since September of '13 you should have long ago become aware of Eustace’s skills in parody and snark. And they are considerable.
While I share your outrage at the brazen, unmitigated, oblivious stupidity of the woman in that video, I disagree with your prediction. The GOP/Teatrolls are trying to piss on our legs while facing into the tornado known as progress. That’s precisely what’s been going on for the past 7 years. You know as well as I do that they rarely, if ever, manage to succeed in attaining their ultimate goal, but they do succeed in making a huge mess…most of which eventually blows back in their faces.
Here’s what’s going to happen I bet: In the end, the GOP/Teatrolls can’t get anything by Obama’s veto and they’ll be entirely incapable of proving these accusations…not to mention that they’ll be entirely unable to overcome all the evidence to the contrary. They’ll have a show trial in the House, during which the members of the committee get to grandstand, polish their McCarthyist bona fides and do a lot more pissing into that tornado…and it will work to rile their base for 2016, which is what the entire charade was designed to do from the get-go. Their idiot candidates will all be babbling about HRC supporting willy-nilly dead-fetus-parts vending and black market abortions for profit and what not, but it’s just preaching to their choir for the most part. And in the midst of the manufactured shitstorm, they’ll overreach, and the first Teatroll to suggest that any women would deliberately get pregnant so they could sell their aborted fetus for profit…well, HE will be the last one to say it, let’s just put it that way.
I was certainly more concerned yesterday, because the legal issue is alot more complicated than the usual nontroveries, and I was concerned it wouldn’t get explained or understood that this is absolutely not illegal. But I’ve noticed today that even some of the right wing talking points are not necessarily trying to claim that PP was just selling fetuses out the back door for profit like some sort of covert black market dead fetus vending machine. Rather, I feel like I’m already seeing more talk along the lines of “even if it’s legal, it’s not moral and we should change the law.” That’s a pretty significant concession to be cropping up so soon.
I think the one area where it’ll be most annoying and potentially dangerous is how it gets used by Teatrolls who control state legislatures and/or governors’ offices…the wild west of ideological nincompoopery. They will use the hullabaloo as their cue and cover for enacting state laws that might try to criminalize these donations or, more likely, just the reimbursement of the costs thereof, thinking that if they can turn it into a financial sinkhole, PP will just have to stop because it loses them too much money. All of it though, will be high profile motivation for even more women to show up and vote for HRC, and I would not be surprised if, consistent with the way alot of their attempted sabotages and shenanigans have turned out over the past 7 years, we see even more blowback once the initial agitprop smokescreen clears and real information starts trickling out to the public. May these fuckers drown in their own piss.
