A Fox News spokesperson told Politico that the boycott is not affecting business. “There’s been no impact on our business, and new advertisers continue to opt in for our powerful prime-time lineup,” the spokesperson said.
Yeah, I imagine "The American Nazi Heating & Cooling Co." could get a good ad rate.
In the Trump era, some days it feels like Germany circa 1936-37, and other days it feels like the US circa 1963-64. These past 7 days have felt like both.
In the case of Laura Ingraham, the building reaction to her reminds me of how things quickly turned against pro-segregationists through the 60’s. There was a sea change in terms of the political acceptability of racism that sent a lot of hard core racists out of the mainstream and politically empowered minorities for the first time since the end of the Civil War.
Laura Ingraham is a fascist and a propagandist who has thought that she was in the mainstream, even more so as Fox pushed conservative America even further to the extreme. She is losing advertisers and further branding herself and her network as the racist pile of crap that it has always been. She’s also just very bad at her job. What’s disturbing about her show and Tucker Carlson’s is that the theme is white nationalism. She brings a certain air of reverence to Nazism as evidenced by her interview with Beauregard the other day. Fox will not survive as a network if they keep people like that around.
I wouldn’t put it past her to try to “get” one of these young children herself. A similar thing happened in Argentina during the péron years.
Every once in awhile, I tune into Fox to get some idea of the propagandist spew they’re projecting. This week, I stumbled across the Ingraham show and watched for a good 30 minutes.
It took me 3 days of intensive reading of the Encyclopedia Britannica to recover the 30 point IQ dip that I suffered.
All these advertisers simply keep coming back after the storm dies. Its just meaningless.
Ingraham’s ratings rose after the last ad boycott. I am pretty sure they will again.
“Laura Ingraham’s very personal, on-the-ground commitment to the plight of impoverished and abandoned children — specifically in Guatemala — speaks for itself,” a Fox News spokesperson told Politico in reference to her adopted child. “So, too, does her strong belief in a common-sense, legal immigration system, which will continue to be a focus of her show. Fox News will never tolerate or give in to attempts to silence diverse viewpoints by agenda-driven intimidation efforts.”
Whoever wrote that… you’re in the running
If this is her idea of “summer camp” somebody needs to check on her kids.
It testifies to the casual indifference the administration has when we read of reports it is openly accepted many of these children may, and probably won’t, ever be reunited with their families. I llstened to NPR this morning and the kid’s eventual placement in foster care was talked about as a fait accompli. Taken from their parents, forever, and given to other people. And it’s “Oh well, whatcha gonna do?”
History is rife with stories of societies stealing or kidnapping the children of other nations, tribes, clans, etc., and either keeping them or sending them off wholesale to live elsewhere, removed from their parents. And those histories universally portray the people doing such things as monsters for their deeds.
WTF have we so casually become?
Laura Ingram’s idea of line dancing.

So is it clear yet that these positions they take have consequences and are toxic?
They can deny and spin and obfuscate, but when advertisers are leaving, that’s the truth.
David Hogg, a Parkland shooting survivor who successfully pushed Ingraham’s advertisers to boycott when she previously made offensive comments about him, tweeted at her “we meet again” and a list of her advertisers.
He’s just so awesome.
Many of the fleeing advertisers are cut from the same mercenary fascist cloth as the shows they buy time on. They’re protecting their bottom line, not the honorable reputation of their corporation. If Home Depot cancels an ad on Fox I figure it’s just one Nazi asshole winking at another Nazi asshole and saying, “You understand, it’s nothing personal.”
I’ve thought of the children of the Disappeared too. This inhumanity must be ended now, and the children returned to their families. Now.
And I know as soon as the furor dies down, they’ll be back.
What I’d like to know is, who are the advertisers who left and stayed gone, even after the dust settled? Those are the folks I’d like to support, as the clearly have some ethics.
Why is Facebook treating Fox as a reputable news source? I watched clips of Lou Dobbs and Pirro singing the praises of Trump after the NK “summit.” Morning Joe compared them to a newsreader in NK. The similarities were uncomfortable, though hilarious. Fox propaganda at its finest.
Facebook has teamed up with CNN, Fox News, and several other providers to release its own exclusive news shows.
The company announced on Wednesday it was funding several news organizations to create original exclusive series for its platform. The shows will appear on Watch, its section dedicated to original video series.
Carlisle Indian Industrial School comes to mind.
It’s frustrating to read FOX’s response but that crap works. Boycotts never do.
Ad Drops On Her
I just can’t get the image of a billboard squishing her … out of my mind —
