Discussion: Latino Early Vote Surges From Florida to Nevada

That’s great news. It’s going to be needed, too, as black early voting is way down in Florida, 25% percent in 2012 down to 15% of the votes so far this time.

Best news I’ve seen in weeks.

There’s a better source than the NYTimes for voting in Florida:

To Republican clowns who hate us and don’t want us around, we are here to stay and will use our ever-increasing political power to make you listen to us or pay the consequences.

While I would prefer a nice clean blowout for Clinton, if it is close, it will be real satisfying if it ends up being the increased Latino vote which beats trump. It will both be justice and will hopefully spur Republican leaders to take up immigration reform.

The African American vote in those states (especially NC) is being reported in a way that is misleading, as though there is an overly large difference in their support for Obama and Clinton. There is a difference, but the way it being presented ignores the GOP voter suppression which is a larger factor. In addition, I have seen bullshit articles interviewing African American voters with “doubts” about Hillary…as though this represents something more than a few percentage points.

From the data I have come across, there are operatives working on the ground this week to increase African American voters (with all intentions of voting for Hillary).

Guess what, GOP? Get used to it. As your aging, angry white man demographic dies off and is replaced by people of color, it’s only going to get worse. You’ve been appealing to the base nature of these deplorables for 30 years now and it;s finally coming home to roost.

Awwww… GOP… you finally manage to squeeze in some laws to disenfranchise the black vote and another group of brown people spring up out of the ground.

Maybe you shouldn’t have called them all rapists and threatened to deport their families?

At least you won’t have to have a postmortem after this election… you can just dig 2012’s out of the trash and underline EVERYTHING twice, and republish…

Interesting site. He has AAs as 12% of the vote right now, less than the NYT reports.

538 also shows the black vote down:

IN MOST LATINO COUNTIES IN MOST AFRICAN-AMERICAN COUNTIES
1 Miami-Dade 87.4% Gadsden 61.4%
2 Osceola 84.1 Jefferson 65.0
3 Hendry 76.0 Leon 64.4
4 Orange 79.2 Duval 58.7
5 Broward 78.3 Broward 78.3
Statewide average: 79.4%

TPM, no! Don’t put this information out today!
It practically guarantees that state troopers will be raiding at least one Latino outreach/voter registration office by the end of the day!

Excellent news.

When the postmortem for this election is done, I suspect it’ll be Latinos and women that will have carried Hillary over the top.

And Republicans will respond by…doubling down on white males as they always do.

your aging, angry white man demographic

Serious question here: Are we sure about this?

Because looking at Trump rally crowds, I see what looks to be mostly 30-40-ish men and women. Some younger as well. Prime parenting age. We also see various working-age population groups that broadly support Trump: cops, vets, market traders (not analysts, but the “floor” traders), those without a college degree. I’m also quite sure that aging white men (angry or not) don’t make up 40% of the population. Anyone have thoughts on that?

My thoughts are that there are a lot of younger Trumpers out there. In fact HuffPo did a great article on it this morning, which I urge people to read.

Well, I was a republican as a youngster. I grew out of it.

Maybe they will too.

As for Latinos, I say, Woo Hooooo!! I am so happy to see that sleeping demographic come alive.
