Discussion: Latest Sign Christie's Running For President: Wife Leaves Wall Street Job

Discussion for article #235654

Why is anyone surprised. Of course Christie’s running for President. He desperately wants to be President so he can stop people from smoking weed. He needs to make sure that he kowtows to the anti-hemp lobby.

However will they get by with his meager salary?

Indeed. The Guv will need a lot of emotional support from wifey when he finally realizes that he has ZERO chance of becoming President. He is neither fish nor fowl for Republicans, and there are not enough Independents who are not already alienated by his corruption, arrogance, incompetence and awful record. It may also be true that the taint of a Wall St. marriage (but not necessarily the secret one of money for favors) will hurt any Republican candidate.

Did she have to cross a bridge to do it?

Here’s what the home folks are saying:

"TRENTON — New Jersey’s First
Lady Mary Pat Christie has resigned from her job at the Wall Street
specialty investment firm Angelo, Gordon & Co.

A statement released to the media by Kevin Roberts, a spokesman for the
governor’s office, confirmed “Mrs. Christie has decided to take a hiatus
from her work in the finance world to spend more time with her family
and young children. She recently resigned her position as a Managing
Director at Angelo Gordon.”

I want to see him dressed in orange a few months before the election.

And see his wife’s face when she wishes she hadn’t quit her job.

There really is no place else for him to go. He’s reached a political deadend. If he’s secured enough donors to have enough money to make a serious run,he has nothing to lose. Same goes for Rick Perry who suddenly has fallen completely off the radar screen.

No more sure sign of mental illness than someone proclaiming they want to spend MORE time with their family. With her money a desolate beach on a sparsely populated tropical island isn’t a more appealing alternative?

Queen:

Dosen’t this have familiar ring ?but it’s usually coming from and indicted (male) politician.

" spend more time with her family "

I’m sure you’ll see the same forced grin that’s always plastered on her face.

She worked in finance? I wonder if she was the main bread winner in the family? We know who the main bread eater is but was she the main bread winner.

the only sign you need for confirmation of christie running is his effort to lose weight.

He is already publicly crying that he is poor and doesn’t make enough money. His salary is 700,000K a year. Now he should be really crying if the little woman is not bringing home her hedge fund check. Excuse me while I get a Kleenex tissue to wipe the tears away.

Mary Pat Christie should just take a 90 day leave of absence, because that’s as long as her husband’s campaign will last!

He’s going to make an attempt to run for a face saving effort and nothing more. Christie has as much chance of being the party nominee as a wet hen. But it’s his time and someone dime. Fat lot of good it will do him. And yes, pun intended.

Indictments could make it a lot shorter.
