Just a normal guy who had an arsenal of assault weapons
Did he know his brother was stockpiling modern assault weapons? Because if he did, he doesnât get a pass.
A lot of decent, ordinary, non-threatening people accumulate guns that are collectable because of their age, unique design, limited production run etc. Famous hunting weapons (Winchester Sweet 16 or Model 12, etc). This is very different than accumulating modern assault weapons and ammo which is significant sign of someone troubled. You donât get to say, âyea, I know my brother had several assault weapons heâd purchased the last few years and several thousand rounds of ammo, but we just thought he was getting a little eccentricâ.
Didnât the Republicans just overturn an Obama EO that restricted gun ownership by the mentally ill and the elderly?

And the GOP is also ramping up efforts to make silencers easier to purchase.
Police on Monday identified Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old white man from Mesquite, Nevada, as the suspect in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
There is no doubt were the perp an Iranian green card holder Trump would decree this event was justification for all manner of who knows what measures, retribution, deportations, etc. But since he's a white U.S. citizen this event is justification.........for..........what??? Hmmmm??
Historical weapon collecting is like historical car collecting: beautiful objects. Accumulating stockpiles of assault weapons and ammunition - pretty clear indicator of paranoia.
âŚjust another day in paradise. MAGA!
(âŚsorry. A mixture of sorrow, anger, and resignation)
My stepfather collects stuffed bears. The entire damned house is full of them. When I visit I ask mother to fix stuff that doesnât require sharp knives at the table. Collectible stuffed animals are a gateway to mayhem.
The brother is probably telling the truth, as far as he knows it. By the time people reach their 40s or older, they typically have not had close, consistent contact with their siblings for many years. By then, they have their own families and separate lives. Even in relatively close families, siblings of that age are generally not part of each otherâs daily lives.

Yeah. You never know when one of those evil ursines is gonna go medieval on your ass.
I know exactly why this happened. Conservatives and the NRA have not just stopped any and all gun regulations from being enacted but they routinely call Sandy Hook a false flag operation.
Itâs time the rest of us take the NRA apart brick by brick and employee by employee until nothing of it left is recognizable.
they are all looking at you. you know they can read your thoughts.
Why? Just to get NRA money? Hard to imagine an actual policy reason why this would be necessary.
If Stephen Miller has his hand in the speech writing for today - the speech will veer off onto a tangent that works in the spector of fear around ominous âothersâ - the racism and fear will be used to distract from any concern about, you know, easy access and ability to stockpile military style high powered weapons.
Pretty simple really. Person thatâs a little nuts buys a lot of guns because itâs legal. Then he goes over the edge of sane thought and uses aforementioned guns to reak death and destruction.
A normal guy whose lady roommate went out of the country without him. I have a theory.
Hard to imagine an actual policy reason why this would be necessary.
Thereâs no rational policy reason for approving open carry, either, except for the most important one: sales of firearms and firearm accessories by the companies who are the NRAâs most important constituency.
What we need is more good guys setting up sniper nests.
