Ever wonder why it is so difficult to have a meaningful discussion about some of the most crucial issues facing America and the world? The thought that anyone could make an organized attempt to deal with the state of race relations in the US ,poorly conceived or otherwise, is met with hate and derision.Good luck ever getting to the crux of this or any issue when a simple acknowledgment there is a problem is an epic fail.We are seeing this play out in DC every day with no end in sight.
That derision (AND the source of it) tells me all I need to know about Mr. Wilmore.
African American and Latino progress came at the hands of those who tried (maybe clumsily) to help ease people’s pain. Not beneficiaries of the efforts of what Mr. Wilmore call very un-cool people.
When people were working with SNCC, during my teen years, there was a lot of “un-coolness” in the house.
edit: Wilbon equals Wilmore
