When you are in a Presidential campaign, every minute of every day is valuable. Each interview has a purpose and a target audience you are seeking to woo to your side.
A Presidential candidate who is down in the polls seeking the approval and admiration of the people of foreign nations, much less those of a foreign nation which is one of our most vehement adversaries, is doing so instead of seeking the votes of the American people.
That is, rightly, a major campaign scandal.

The Authoritarian Right loves Putin because he is a strong, no-nonsense leader who is unafraid to crack down on anyone who is seen as “undesirable”.
The MIC Right loves Putin because they yearn for the return of the Cold War and it’s associated profits.
The Christian Right loves Putin because he has been defending the Orthodox Church against “liberalism”.
The self-hating, closeted gay Right loves Putin ever since that picture of him with his shirt off.
To the farthest Right reaches of the GOP base, the closer Trump ties himself to Putin the more they like him.

Frankly, I’m glad that the polling has narrowed like this, and no it’s not surprising given the constant drumbeat of anti-Hillary propaganda stories.
Think about it…if Hillary had maintained the big polling lead from last month all the way through to November, what would the Democratic turnout have looked like come election day?
Gee, I can see Hillary’s got this in the bag…I’ll just spend the day on Facebook and Twitter. And there are text messages to be read and sent, and all those funny videos on YouTube…
At least if the polls are close otherwise unpatriotic lazy people may understand it’s in their interest to get their asses down to their polling place.
Hopefully they’ll be allowed to vote once they get there!

The thing is that one of Trump’s largest group of backers are the Teavangelicals, the same types that refused to pass a clean Zika funding bill because they had to show the base that they are always out to screw over Planned Parenthood. A large part of Trump’s base is very strongly anti-abortion.

I’m quite sure that trumpf has made statements in the past indicating he’s pro choice because after all he did start out as a Democrat. He’s saying what he has to to round up the fundies.

Hillary, like all politicians, lie. With the exception of sniper fire, her lies have been garden variety political truth shading. No big deal. But Trump supporters claim she lies all the time and even then can’t name them but insist that they are unforgiveable – thus my comment.
Seems you didn’t understand that my comment was a dig at Trump supporters, not Hillary. I guess that happens when you’re loaded for bear and don’t get irony or snark.

Another possible explanation – Trump likes Putin because Ivanka is BFFs with and spent her vacation with Putin’s mistress.
The Trump campaign now says that the candidate and they were tricked and confused about the broadcast. Really? This is the level of complication required to confuse them? Thanks, good to know.
