oh say it isn’t so.
Another trump special perp reaping all the awards he can get before the hole opens up below his feet.
Zinke really, really needs Pruitt to stick around, so he looks less corrupt by comparison.
It is not, as reported, the “appearance” of conflict of interest, it is an “actual” conflict of interest.
“Critics say the land deal gives the appearance of an inappropriate
relationship between the secretary and an energy company that stands to
benefit from the Trump administration’s push to increase drilling on
public lands.”
It does give that appearance doesn’t it?
AP: A child (normally a human designated between the ages of 1 year and 15 years of age) or children, have been placed in spaces that have chain link fencing demarking their own areas of sleeping and rest. This gives the appearance that innocent (presumed guiltless) children of being maltreated.
Obviously. If there were not a major profit opportunity in Ryan Zinke taking the job of Secretary of the Interior, Trump would not have bothered to offer him the job.
I wonder if Zinke demanded he be allowed final say about the project’s final (flag) design?
Wonder how much Darth Cheney made off the scam, I mean, deal…
This is classic good ol’ boys dealism - probably barely legal on paper and completely unethical. This is how the real money gets made, chumps.
Ah, the Trump “Administration”; making Warren Harding’s look positively honest and not at all corrupt.
For trump, having the secretary of the interior be a longtime friend trading favors with energy company heads is a feature.
As Balzac famously pointed out: behind every great fortune there is a crime.
Only 13 comments on a mayor corruption scandal, same with the issue of Ross. I guess we are too busy worrying about concentration camps, the SS of ICE and Herod’s decrees to worry about mere corruption.
I think his homely daughter took up the family business.
They point out that Zinke also owns a home nearby that he wants to turn into a bed and breakfast, and that the development would increase the value of his property.
There are yet unconfirmed rumors that LOLA and Ryan Zinke’s concept for the Bed and Breakfast includes an affiliation and naming agreement to name the Bed and Breakfast "Ye Olde Chick Fil A and Whitefish Energy Bed and Breakfast " which will further allow the Happy Zinke Couple to receive six figure naming rights fees from both Chick Fil A and Whitefish Energy, the Company for whom Zinke facilitated a $100M “no bid/no audit allowed” contract to not restore electricity to Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.
Is it me or does Zinke look like a Dr. Seuss character?
You know I’m sure there’s a lot of bullshit similar to this that goes on regardless of party, as to me this is a major motivator for getting into politics. So to think the current crop isn’t going to be as bad or worse is either wishful thinking or willful ignorance. Big thing I think is that republicans seem to ignore stuff that does more harm to the country and people.
