You’re obviously a far better person than I am, because I have absolutely no sympathy for a man who claims one thing and then does another. I am also an out gay man, and I applaud you for you ability to actually be more Christian than the self-proclaimed “Christians.” … however, I still hope he gets prison time at the minimum (the maximum would probably make him happy, and it deals with “Bubba”).

The problem for Hastert is, what he did during his time as a public servant should serve to increase, not decrease, any potential length of prison sentence.

Thank you. Though I have some sympathy for those who struggle, I say that it’s what you do with that struggle that helps to define your character. Hastert obviously doesn’t have character. He’s voted anti-equality whenever he could. He’s carried water for the far right religionists. Sad, but he’s getting what he deserves. I, too, would like to see the man behind bars. Awful way to spend the twilight of your life.

There is no way of knowing what Hastert’s sexuality is, hell he might not even know. However, the man certain has foraged deep, emotional relationships with other men throughout his life.
