Obviously a nom de plume. Dean C. Logan is a common name for Russians to adopt when up to no good. Dean C. Logan borrowed a set of jumper cables from me back in '88 and never returned them. Looking back the heavy smell of vodka always on his breath should have tipped me off.There was a local election yesterday involving county officials and municipal judges mostly running unopposed by Republicans. (yea) Still it seemed like a good idea to go put dots on the paper ballot to show strength for the Democratic Party here. And if for some reason my voter registration had a problem, I would have had plenty of time to get it right before the November election rolled around.
Hopefully the LA County voters will be notified in time to participate in the November tsunami.

I started looking for funny business the minute Trump started saying that the midterms would be rigged since he accuses others of what he is doing himself. The area affected includes areas favorable to Rouda (the stronger GE candidate against Rorhabach) over his close competitor for second place Keirstead.

They were allowed to vote provisionally and assured their votes woukd be counted.
I presume simply by matching their names to the correct rolls?
No further damage done except to the extent that voters hesitated to vote provisionally?
Umhm. I totally believe that every one of those provisional ballots will be counted. I in no way think that a single one will find its way to a landfill. I have absolute confidence that this was not a rehearsal for November.
Expect a whole fucking lot of this “oops, sorry” approach to voter suppression this year. They only need a couple more years to blow shit up almost permanently.
The state needs to get off it’s ass and investigate the LA County Clerk’s office. If there is any nefarious personal or financial connection to the Republicans or their candidates, heads need to ROLL.
Zero tolerance for any of this bullshit regarding our elections. Make any shady actors a fearsome example.

Anyone who uses the word inconvenience when describing a sweeping fuck-up like this, is expressing either thoughtlessness or outright contempt for those affected. It is a horrible piece of corporate PR-speak, and the correct response is hoots, jeers, and banana creme pies in the face.
In CA, you can track provisional ballots to see when they are counted. I hope folks do so.
