Discussion: Kushner’s Middle East Peace Plan To Stop Short Of Sovereign Palestinian State

Ah. He’s going to stop the endless cycle of violence between the Palestinians and the Israelis by saying “Fuck you, Palestinians!”.

Sounds like a plan. Not a good one. Or one that will work, but still a plan.

This whole “plan,” which will be instantly laughed at by anyone with a serious interest in peace negotiations, will become a pretext for annexation and more on the part of Israel. That’s all that’s happening here. Jared is setting the table for Bibi to continue his descent: “See, we tried! We worked so hard on our plan! And they rejected it!”

“According to a Sunday Washington Post report, officials familiar with the plan say it centers on economic opportunities for the Palestinians and a guarantee of Israeli control over disputed territory.

a guarantee of Israeli control over disputed territory.

Of course, it’s “disputed,” but that’s a weasel word.

It’s “disputed” because it’s illegally occupied.

So, the Kushner Middle East Peace Plan is Intifada III.

As others have said above, good luck with that.

He wants Prince Bone Saw and his pals to pick up the tab.

"it’s not clear where the money would come from. Rich Persian Gulf states “were asked to support financially the economic part,” Ghaith al-Omari, a Middle East analyst and former Palestinian Authority adviser, tells the Post. “In polite terms, the answer they gave was, ‘First, tell us what we are supposed to pay for.’ … There were no commitments.”

There was this asshole named Fred Trump who imported a timid Scots lass to be his hausfrau. Fred was a Queens, NY property owner/slumlord/bigot who got his start with money from his dad, who made it as a pimp in Alaska’s gold rush…

The reality is that Israel doesn’t fear Intifadas, those are easy to win. It’s the Palestinians end up with the dead and the blame.

Since no one is going to stop Israel with its illegal land grab, the question is what we do with the Palestinian people, my preferred solution is to relocate them to Texas and other states llke Nebraska and Kansas.

My recollection is that the second intifada especially had some consequences in the Israeli electorate, and both caused trouble internationally.

But as long as the US uses its Security Council veto to protect Likud your point is well-taken.

There is no peace plan that doesn’t include the Palestinians.

“Kushner’s Middle East Peace”

There are four words in that phrase. One word refers to a corrupt, incompetent moron. The other three refer to something that does not and will not exist during the Trump administration.

A “peace” plan that is actually deal between Israel, KSA, and UAE, brokered on the backs of the Palestinians, to isolate Iran? Who would’ve guessed?

To get an idea of Kushner’s “peace plan”, I suggest reading his Op Ed in the Washington Post from July 19, 2018 on Hamas and Gaza.

Some key words:

Seventy years after the founding of Israel, it would be wise for Hamas to acknowledge that the existence of Israel is a permanent reality. Almost all in the Middle East have come to accept this fact, and many even embrace it. At the expense of the Palestinian people, Hamas is fighting a morally bankrupt, decades-old war that has long been lost.

Peace will provide opportunity to break this stalemate, and peace will be achieved only by embracing reality and dismissing a flawed ideology. Life could significantly improve in short order for the Palestinian people if Hamas allowed it. There are engaged, interested parties with resources who are ready to get to work. Yet without real change accompanied by reliable security, progress is impossible. If Hamas demonstrates clear, peaceful intentions — not just by word but, more importantly, by deed — then all manner of new opportunities becomes possible.

There is no reason the Palestinians (in both the West Bank and Gaza) can’t enjoy economic success and integrate into a thriving regional economy — if they let us help.

My take on his Op Ed - the conflict in Gaza and the lack of prosperity in Gaza is all Hamas’ fault. If Hamas accepts the existence of Israel and the status quo, returns the Israeli solders they hold, and stops fighting - then things will get better for them.
