I wondered when someone would connect the dots on the Kushners and Oscar. Oscar predates Trump’s campaign and was always premised on the success of the ACA. Obviously, Jared Kushner should be recused from anything that affects Oscar, whether he divested or not, since his brother is still invested and I have to believe blood is way thicker than water especially with this crowd. But this is one of those things that makes me think that Kushner must be an incredibly servile and self-serving person. Who would even tacitly go along with a plan to repeal a safety net program when you think it is not only wrong in the larger sense, but even as to your own narrow self-interests? Kushner is enabling Trump to do things that even Kushner knows are wrong. It’s insane.
I agree that this is the least of my complaints about Jared Kushner and his conflicts. His brother’s reputation actually isn’t bad, and presumably it never dawned on Josh Kushner when he was raising funds in Thrive that included his brother’s that the world actually was in danger of a Trump presidency or that ACA was in danger. If anything, it suggestsJared Kushner was that his father-in-law could win and the country could go to crazy town so quickly.
Poor Jared. His brother won the hair competition. SAD.
A cynical person would think Jared “Full Metal Jackass” Kushner has a conflict of interest.
Thankfully, he’s as pure as the driven snow.
Correct - they only think about the angles, nothing else.
Trump would have had a huge “win” if he flummoxed the Republicans, and demanded an Obamacare fix, and started within the Democratic caucus, hoping to peel off a few GOP House members, which would have been possible, then do the same in the Senate.
If he had properly used the bully pulpit he would have prevailed and looked like a genius. Instead…drip, drip, drip,
Good facts based article and as they say…follow the MONEY!
Now look at some of the Republicans who want to make sure the Insurance giants continue to get their Obamacare billions in Federal Government subsidies.
Here is a fact: the Health Insurance Companies saw a huge jump of 40% in their profits in 2016! Those profits are growing in 2017.
So why are the Insurance giants raking it in while the media gives the impression that health insurance is a loser?
- The insurance companies are colluding with each other and especially to eliminate competition in the smaller states. You can see how they are dividing up the states…one insurer will pull out of Nevada leaving it for someone else as long as they get New Mexico for themselves. This is what has happened…the Insurance Giants are carefully dividing up the states so they have price leverage…they can enforce monopoly pricing just as Warren Buffet operates.
The best ways to lower healthcare costs:
- Aggressively (throw violators in jail) enforce and uphold anti-trust laws and define competition at the state level.
- Short of rediscovering the enforcement of anti-trust laws which is a low probability under Republicans, then move the nation to a single payer Medicare for all system. This will remove the 30% overhead cost added by the giant and hugely profitable Wall Street Insurance Companies like Anthem and Aetna and others.
And the wrong one. Depending on how much Ivanka is invested in looks.
He may not have learned much about how to bring about world peace or run a business in general, but Jared definitely learned some lessons in how to hide ownership behind layers of shell companies.
What do you expect from a crooked two-faced traitor? Decency?
Good call. I wonder if the SEC saw that?
This is the same mindset that allows Dump to use Chinese steel in his buildings, turn around and blame the government for letting him do it, and exploit the anger of the people who were un/under-employed because of his choices.
There literally is no losing for these people.
jared’s brother appears to have very slim short fingers…like a 10 year old girl.
Kushy’s conflict of interenst happened to put him on the side of the angles in this particular case, but there is no reason to think this will hold in the next GOP assault Wegmans Connect on America.
In a similar vein, John Schindler has wreaked devastation on Trump and his coterie in the Observer - which is also owned by Kushy.
Well, actually, it probably didn’t mean you favored massive oil spills, but I’m not sure I’d infer anything more than that!
