In my youth I represented a town or two that size. The budgets are extremely tight. Valley Park probably went without a lot of needed services for years after Kobach finished with them.
Conclusion: Kris Kobach is a loser.
This piece had me at Valley Park. I went and read the Kansas City Star’s piece. Very informative.
So Valley Park is right next to where I live in Kirkwood, MO. In fact I go there most days to walk the trail by the Meramec River. There are two parts to Valley Park, one is old town which has some older homes and industry, they also have a levee to finally protect it from flooding. The second part is across highway 141 which has newer homes and subdivisions. They still haven’t figured out how to protect themselves from boondogles. Along the river trail they finally constructed playing fields-baseball, soccer, and football. This has been going on for 5 years because, wait for it, the land which is in a park they created keeps getting flooded.
Also this park with the levee is where I watched the solar eclipse last summer, on top of the levee. Fantastic spot to view the eclipse.
Well that and a national grifter.
We see that racism, besides being immoral, is also expensive.

Really captures how he amped up the fears, then wove his grifty fingers around the cities’ pocket books as we has chasing national fame (and $$).
I hope Kansas recognizes that this guy is as bad as Brownback in terms of pursing extremist agendas that are less about the good of the state and more about trying to carve out a national platform - and will leave a great deal of damage in his wake if he gets elected.
Having achieved a decent standard of living from common benefits of government, conservatives rush to deny others those same rights granted to everyone.

I would hope that after Kobach lost his latest lawsuit, and the judge handed him his ass plus ordered him back to a refresher course in procedures, the good Republicans in Kansas will wake the fuck up.
