Discussion: Kremlin-Tied Lawyer Offers New Account of Trump Tower Meeting With Don Jr

But you’d think that Putin would still prefer Trump in the WH than anyone else …

Not too sure, hardcore poker players dislike playing with absolute beginners, they are unpredictable

But they do love gullible idiots.

Donald Trump Jr did not give the meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya a second thought when Goldstone emailed that this was part of “Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.” After all, the Trump organization had been meeting with Russian mob representatives for years. When an American bank looked at Trump, they saw multiple bankruptcies. The mob, on the other hand, viewed Trump as a way to launder their ill gotten gains by buying real estate and lending him money.

It’s possible that the Russians are doing this in the mistaken belief that it will help bring down Trump. It won’t, because this idea of what was said at the meeting is really already known, but not provable in court. That’s what is needed at this point to bring down Trump, the legally provable, stuff that will hold up in court, and thereby get witnesses to flip.

Actually, having a literal Russian agent give this account of the meeting accomplishes nothing but impeach the credibility of that account. We assume she’s acting at the bidding of the Russian govt, the proposed counterparty to the Trump campaign in this quid pro quo. Her statement tends to prove nothing except that the Russian govt is spreading an embarrassing story about Trump. That Mueller seems to be pushing the same line tends to discredit Mueller, if Veselnitskaya’s statement has any force, because Mueller would seem to be serving Russia’s interests.

It’s possible that the Russian govt is just making a mistake. Trump has us all befuddled, and they think they’re hurting him, but are actually helping him. But, objectively, they’re more likely to be trying to help Trump stay afloat by discrediting the idea of a quid pro quo at this meeting.

I think Uncle Vlad and his crew are playing 20-dimensional chess with us all.

And they’re six moves ahead as well…

Won’t matter if Mueller is seven or ten moves ahead.

One of the things that always confuses me is Trump’s base (his hardcore base) are the same people that are hardcore anti communism folks. How do they justify the Trump gang’s constant involvement with Russia, even if there is no collusion?

I think Mueller is seven or ten moves ahead of the Crime Family Trump and their associated henchmen, who are all considerably dumber than Vladdie & Co., luckily for us.

Given Vladdie’s years of headstart on Mueller, I think the best we can hope for is a careful, solid, catch-up game vis-a-vis the Russian interference. But, ultimately, we wanna get Crime Family Trump and their henchmen behind bars – Vladdie is unfortunately beyond our reach – and as long as Mueller’s documenting and exposing as he goes, we may be able to reduce future machinations from Moscow (and St. Petersburg).

It’s not about belief – it’s all about compromat.

Trump’s base follows Cleek’s Law: Today’s conservatism is the opposite of what liberals want today, updated daily.

Dumbed down to: We’re for anything that makes libtards’ heads explode.

At the time of the meeting set up by Goldstone, Natalia Veselnitskaya was in the United States defending a Russian mobster accused of fraud in a civil suit brought by former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. So it is the word of a Russian mob lawyer and “former” GRU agent Rinat Akhmetshin against the self serving testimony of Jr., Kushner and Manafort.

Admittedly there is no one who was at that meeting who has any credibility. However while the Russians are not in a position to defend Trump or themselves, they certainly could provide investigators with damning evidence against Trump.

I’ve always wondered about the translator. He didn’t seem to fit tightly into either “team”, Russians or Trumpsters, which seemed odd.

The one question that the Trumpeteers will not answer is why did the Russians back Trump? They have no good answer so they deny and deflect to Hilary…

Since Trump is For Russia, they are now For Russia. That’s how cults of personality work.

The venomous witch just figuratively mailed Trump his son’s ear in a shoe box.

Now how about a short clip from the Moscow Ritz-Carlton cinematographer? It can play out like the Monty Python ‘Blackmail’ game show sketch, where the contestant plays ‘stop the film’.

Trump and Putin are about to meet, Putin probably though a preemptive squeeze of the balls, will help Trump understand what his instructions are.

And authoritarianism in general. See Orwell’s 1984.

Monday: “We’re at war with East Asia, we have always been at war with East Asia. Eurasia is our ally and has always been our ally.”

Tuesday: “We’re at war with Eurasia, we have always been at war with Eurasia. East Asia is our ally and has always been our ally.”

(Paraphrased.)

Now let’s all head to the conference room for today’s Two Minutes of Hate. Damn you, Goldberg!

Trump murders the English language!

I’ll go along with that but I still wouldn’t trust a Russian government official, lawyer or anyone else close to Putin about anything. But…please proceed as long as our side does so with an abundance of caution.
