Discussion: Krauthammer: Like 'Rain Dance,' Climate Change A 'Superstition'

Even the statement that ‘physicists believed that space and time are fixed’ is completely wrong.

Quite right. As a thought experiment, let’s pretend climate change is total b.s. Would that make energy efficiency bad? How is getting the most work from every bit of energy bad for the 99% of the economy that isn’t oil and coal extraction? Even if burning these carbon sources were totally innocuous, the laws of thermodynamics and chemistry (which I doubt even Krauthammer disputes) say that sources of reduced carbon in an oxygen atmosphere must be finite. The exact amount is unknown, but they cannot be infinite. So reducing the burning of these irreplaceable resources is a positive, even if there were no climate change.

The best part of this for me is when cities in Florida are spending money coping with rising sea levels and yet STILL have to deny climate change cuz that’s what Red States do.

Even if these Radical
Right Wing idiots do not want to blame the Kochs and Corporations for the REASON for climate change----do they know how stupid they look----denying it’s existence???

What about RELIGIONS (all of them)…? Isn’t “rain dance” another form of “prayer”?

Well, you could quit being a commentator, formulate an hypothesis, test the hypothesis, have your peers review your data, then publish your findings to show that climate change is an elaborate hoax.

Or, you could just pontificate.

Decisions, decisions.

Worse than that, Krauthammer was a Psychiatrist!

I’m no psychiatrist, but I have the feeling the Krauthammer is crazy as a loon, and sociopathic to boot. And my opinion is just as good as his; probably better, because psychiatry and psychiatrists are all unstable.

Ya know, chuck, you were trained as an MD, you became a shrink as I recall. Pre-med involves a lot of science courses to get into med school With your MD, you are by definition a scientist.
Since you denigrate the work of other scientists on the Faux Propaganda Channel I can only speculate that someone is greasing your palm.

steve: Shrinks are not highly regarded among physicians in general.
I wonder why.
Agree he’s either a loon, venal or both.

I’m not impressed by numbers, I’m not impressed by consensus. I’m impressed by cold, hard cash.

The man is obviously not very bright. He is among those fighting for the status quo because he’s paid to do so. Such levels of ignorance can’t be allowed to go unchallenged. Science can be difficult to follow when the academics speak in the weeds, however not impossible to comprehend with just a little effort. You don’t need the ability to understand the equations–but the graphs and written word are clear.

He’s very bright. He’s working for a paycheck. That’s what he cares about, and he’s doing just fine.

It’s the fools who believe his nonsense who aren’t very bright.

I have been wondering that myself for some time. I wonder if I should start asking doctors whether or not they accept science before I allow any of them to treat me.

Corporate Con Man Krauthammer does a twofer! Anti science stupid and racist (anti Native American or Tribal) at the same time. What does it matter to him, he wants his Koch Oil masters to make buckets of corrupt money and his Fox gullible Tea Confederate viewers love the racist jibes.

Despicable pig, Krauthammer. Disgusting.

I think most of these deniers figure the rapture will come before then.

Asked about governor Rick Perry’s calls for Days of Prayer to combat Texas’ severe droughts, Krauthammer responded, “What?? I think I hear He-Man coming…Gotta go!!”

Oh yeah? Well, I think the existence of Dracula is just a superstition. So there.

This guy is without one shred of integrity. He’s a well-educated man and knows full well climate change is a reality but he needs recognition from someone and somewhere so he spews this bullcrap on a daily basis.
