That’s OK – great minds and all that.
Couldn’t they almost singlehandedly “fix” Social Security for the next generation for that amount? It would leave a better legacy (and I know they would prefer to dismantle SS.)
Only one billion??? Not impressed. That’s fucking chump change. I plan on spending $2 billion, no $3 billion…just as soon as I can get my banker to OK my loan approval. The paperwork is already in as we speak. So Hah. Take that motherfucker.
I hate this country sometimes.
From their bank accounts to a shill’s. Rich, but not smart.
Yeah. 2012 for the presidential and the congressional results will deliver Congress to the moderates in 2016.
Surely nothing but good will result, when you dangle a billion dollars in front of politicians.
At a rate of return of 200-to-1, that would mean the Koch’s are shooting to get back $195,580,000,000. That’s 195-billion of our money.
Americans are stupid. It doesn’t matter what six in ten people want, it doesn’t matter what a politician promises in public…what matters is what goes on behind closed doors when the money is handed out. We all know it and yet we keep hoping that at least one politician will do the right thing by the American middle class. Forget all the speculation about what the Republicans will do now that they have full control of the House and Senate – they’ve actually been in control for the last six years anyway thanks to weak-kneed Democrats…this is their agenda…bought and paid for by the Koch Brothers. You can bank on it – they meet in secret to discuss it, to hand out the money, to bribe the right number of Reps to do their bidding. Even Supreme Court judges go to the Koch meetings. And Americans sit around lazily, looking bewildered, wondering why the rich are getting richer and people can’t find jobs or feed their children…Stupid, stupid. Well, this is how they plan to destroy America…they wrote about it in 1980, they plotted it, and now they’ve bought enough people in the right places to finish the job…
They’re telling the American people exactly what they intend to do…and we’ll sit around and do nothing until it is too late. It happened in Germany in the Thirties and it certainly will happen here.
This is the Koch Manifesto and the Republican Agenda –
• Oppose all personal and corporate income taxation, including capital gains taxes.
• Support the eventual repeal of all taxation.
• Repeal of all taxes on the income or property of private schools, whether profit or non-profit.
• Repeal of federal campaign finance laws and the immediate abolition of the despotic Federal Election Commission.
• Oppose any compulsory insurance or tax-supported plan to provide health services, including those which finance abortion services.
• Terminate immediately all criminal and civil sanctions against tax evasion.
• Repeal of all state usury laws.
• End to all subsidies for child-bearing built into our present laws, including all welfare plans and the provision of tax-supported services for children.
• Oppose all government welfare, relief projects, and ‘aid to the poor’ programs.
• Abolition of the Environmental Protection Agency.
• Abolition of the Department of Energy.
• Abolition of the governmental Postal Service. We call for an end to the monopoly system and for allowing free competition in all aspects of postal service.
• Abolition of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
• Abolition of the Federal Aviation Administration.
• Abolition of the Food and Drug Administration.
• Abolition of Medicare and Medicaid programs.
• Dissolution of all government agencies concerned with transportation, including the Department of Transportation.
• Demand the return of America’s railroad system to private ownership and privatization of the public roads and national highway system.
• Privatization of the inland waterways, and of the distribution system that brings water to industry, agriculture and households.
• Repeal of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
• Repeal of all law which impede the ability of any person to find employment, such as minimum wage laws.
• Advocate the complete separation of education and States. Government schools lead to the indoctrination of children and interfere with the free choice of individuals. Government ownership, operation, regulation, and subsidy of schools and colleges should be ended.
• Condemn compulsory education laws … and we call for the immediate repeal of such laws.
• Oppose any compulsory insurance or tax-supported plan to provide health services, including those which finance abortion services.
• Oppose laws requiring an individual to buy or use so-called “self-protection” equipment such as safety belts, air bags, or crash helmets.
• Deregulation of the medical insurance industry.
• Repeal of the fraudulent, virtually bankrupt, and increasingly oppressive Social Security system. Pending that repeal, participation in Social Security should be made voluntary.
Say good night America – the dream is dead…
Seriously, isn’t this the same thing we heard in 2012?
The best government money can buy.
They tried this in the last few cycles, and managed to turn a few marginal elections that might have gone anyway. But it’s really like “Casino”–the Kochs and Adelsons are the whales, they throw money into the casino and don’t win, but they keep getting brought to the tables by their own self-delusions, and kept there by the hustlers, like Ginger in the movie and Newt Gingrich in reality, who promise victory with a little more cash. And they end up being flown home, clueless.
It’s some compensation for having to stop watching broadcast TV viewing entirely for the last half of 2016.
