Discussion: Kobach Promises To Push For Tougher Medicaid Work Requirements

…a 68-year-old substitute teacher’s aide from Topeka and registered Republican. She told Kobach during his news conference that she and her nine brothers and sisters were “raised on welfare” by her mother and, “our self-esteem was so bad.”

It could have been worse, you could have been living behind a dumpster near the restaurants where you foraged for discarded food scraps. Would that have improved your self-esteem?

Yeah I don’t get this one either. I suppose Ms. Lemus and her siblings would have had better self esteem if they were starving. Or because you and your siblings had under developed brains because you were starving.

“There’s no excuse for an able-bodied adult to be collecting welfare on the back of hard-working Kansans,” Kobach said during a news conference.

Does this mean you are rejecting all that Koch Brothers funding?

Never mind, we already know the answer, you mendacious jackass.

Not as bad as your empathy.

By the way, Ms. Lemus, Kobach’s proposal wouldn’t require someone with ten children, like your mother, to work. Kobach would, however, treat someone like your mother as a suspected drug user, which isn’t one of the acknowledged methods of boosting a person’s self-esteem.

His proposal would increase the work requirement for cash assistance and food stamps to 30 hours a week for able-bodied adults without children and impose a 30-hour requirement for Medicaid.

I’d like to see the math here – can you even work 30 hours/week and still meet the income tests Kansas places on applicants for assistance?

Wheelchairs? Pfft. Those will be replaced with a DIY kit consisting of a piece of rotting plywood and four rusty metal castors.

“The coddling ends now,” Kobach announced, just before an aide opened the door to his bulletproofed Suburban and his personal chauffeur whisked him away to his next fundraiser.

Nawwww…this is how tough guy Kris rolls. Says it pisses of the libbryls..

If only he could find a beater Toyota pickup to mount that gun in he could be a true American ISIS guy!

BERLIN 1940 {AP} 2 Jewish men returned to their neighborhood and asked for their apartments and property back. The concentration camps had many surviving Jews and Communists that left the immediate vicinity after the camp gates were opened by our brave troops.

Seriously AP? Closing the ‘story’ with the one tale of a woman who’s mother was suffering low self -esteem because she was on welfare - way to not examine the issue! Keep up the mediocrity.
