Discussion: Kobach Needs Federal Approval For His Latest Kansas Senate Ploy

Are there any sane people in KS that dont think this guys gotta go??? I mean, this is starting to transcend party affiliation into the realm of desperation and absurdity. I wonder what these shenanigans are costing the tax payers of KS (since it doesn’t look like Brownback has any budget wiggle room)

I know this is tinfoil-hat-type stuff, but to me this is looking more and more as if Kobach is trying to arrange for a lawsuit that would challenge the results of the election. Then we’re in a Franken-style situation where he can delay the seating of the winner (should that winner be unacceptable to the GOP) almost indefinitely. Which could in turn mean nominal control of the senate.

Here’s to Kansans realizing they’ve elected nefarious partisan hacks to important state offices, and that they’ve made an absolute mess of the state. And following from that, that they must needs replace these idiots at the earliest opportunity.

Please, God, let him request it “pursuant to” the MOVE Act and then get rejected because he didn’t exactly spell out all the words in the act.

That would rock!

Weasel.

I think the people of Kansas will get fed up with this Kobach nut job. Kansas will they elect an independent to the senate and a Democratic governor but also kick a Republican out of the secretary of state position. Go ahead act like you’re mad and throw as many obstacles in the way trying to confuse the Kansas voters.

Mr Kobach, your efforts are futile.

Did I read correctly, that if he delays sending ballots for eight days, that it ads eight days to the return deadline? So the net effect is zero except for all of the negative attention to Kobach and the Republicans.

Futile implies no net effect. I think his efforts may be having an effect, but only at revealing himself to be the partisan hack that he is. Which, I imagine, is working against him in Kansas.

Kobach was saying that he had the extension when he didn’t.

Why do you insult weasels in that way?

This is what DESPERATION looks like.

He needs to cry uncle and just give it up. Why is he wasting tax payer money on this BS?

Oh, wait, because he’s a republican.

Because he SAID he’d gotten one. The man lies like a snake.

I knew that would happen because of his efforts to save Robert’s seat.

It gives me warm fuzzies.

Mostly, Ghost dines on fresh fish.

He didn’t have a working grasp of reality when he was elected in the first place. He’s the one that claimed a voter was long dead when the local newspaper found the voter in the phone book.

yes

Yeah, that’s my point – I believe there is a Dem running against Brownback, too, yes? Or is the gubernatorial race between Brownback and another Independent?

I can only think that if that’s what Kobach is relying on, he is trying to twist the meaning of that statute to be that you have to field a candidate for every statewide office in every election, and that really makes no sense. And my guess is that it has never been applied that way in the past.

Interesting thought. And I would not put that past Kobach for a minute. We can only hope that he goes down to defeat, too.

Except that if Roberts loses, it gives Republicans an extra 8 days to try to drum up additional military votes for him.
