Discussion: Kobach Launches Kansas Guv Campaign With Hardline Immigration Stance

Scare yourself if you must.

A powerful House Republican said Thursday that Congress should immediately provide money for subsidy payments to health insurance companies, which have been demanding big rate increases or fleeing from Affordable Care Act markets because of President Trump’s threat to cut off the funds.

The Republican, Kevin Brady of Texas, who is the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, went out of his way to make clear that he now believes that Congress should continue the subsidies, which compensate insurers for reducing deductibles and other out-of-pocket costs for seven million low-income people.

Ricketts in NE is a Brownback clone and part of Koch network. So far he is limited in his damage. That unicameral has worked to keep the extremists in check somewhat. Ricketts bought himself some legislaturers. They were real oddballs and a couple were forced to resign. Fingers crossed. He is running for another term.

Kansans don’t care. They know nothing but voting Republican.

He’ll be reelected, and yes, he’s a Brownback clone.

I really don’t care about Kansas. They like this shit. Vaya con Dios.

They would do better with the Scarecrow or the Tinman. If Kobach only had a heart or a brain.

Not surprising and a typical weak bill that won’t pass in the senate. The house is such a waste…well, the senate also. Oh and the SC. And the executive. F***!

My sister has lived in KC for about 15 years now. She started out in Overland Park but bailed for KC MO when Brownback was elected. She avoids the Kansas part of town like the plague. Even the cops are mean over there.

The last decade in which the population of Kansas grew faster than the population of the US was the 1880s.

Maybe his voter purge will not work in his favor and he will lose. Call it the Costanza. Doing the opposite.

Much of the ACA can unfortunately be undone with a simple majority. Repealing Dodd-Frank is subject to a filibuster. And contrary to what people keep saying, McConnell is extremely unlikely to abolish it, and may not have the support for it even if he wanted to.

Did the Russians hack-up his crosscheck lists for him?

ā€œwhich has thus far borne no fruit.ā€

Just one big Fruit…

He’s gonna fight CORRUPTION? Even as Kansas Governor, he’d have no jurisdiction over Trump.

Yes, because immigration is such a huge fucking issue in motherfucking Kansas…

If the rubes fall for this, they deserve what they get.

Wow…let’s see what Kansas does NOW. The REPUBLICANS seem to have overridden Brownback’s 8 year experiment finally…will they go for THIS fanatic?

Words cannot describe how much I want this man to fail miserably, and suffer personal harm in the process. He’s the poster child for voter-ID laws, and everything that is wrong with GOP race-baiting politics.

Don’t forget the Exodusters … especially Gordon Parks
