Fisher said later: “We probably have 400 Hispanics working for us. They’re great.”

What an embarrassing spectacle involving quite a cast of misfits.

“Mr. Fisher, there’s a gentleman from ICE Worksite Enforcement calling for you on Line 1…”

Two days ago I brought up permits and code. This type of clown never thinks rules apply to them.

This is a lot of nonsense.

In NM, building inspectors work for the state. Permits are issued by the state. I know, I have gotten several…

Several years ago, a building inspector got into trouble because he redtagged some remodeling at the GOP Governor’s residence because there was no valid permit.

2,300 feet is not even half of a mile.

2640 is half a mile.

I think, on the whole, I’d rather give my hard-earned dollars to soulless government tax-and-spend bureaucrats than to a pick of idiot grifter loons. Case of choosing your poison, I suppose.

Well, not if you believe the so-called “experts.”

LOL.

“only opposes illegal immigration”

Yawn. The game is to make that claim while sealing the border and then switch to using the sealed border to attenuate legal immigration.

Kolfage, Kobach and Clarke: The Three Hucksterteers.™

BTW Exactly which Mexican cartel is responsible for Kolfage’s limb-losing injuries that would cause his desire to, ideally, hermitically seal off Mexico?

Turning now to news about people with some value as human beings, I just saw that Leon Redbone has died. RIP, and I’ll remember that set you played at the Philadelphia Folk Festival all those years ago. Just one guy sitting in a chair with a guitar, filling that countryside with great music.

Because they’re morons that we know already, it seems particularly stupid. But I think the Trump friendlies think that Trump might come to lean on their private effort next year when he needs video of wall progress to show his supporters something. (I’m not sure that this suffices, but I’m not sure that it doesn’t either when they hear Trump say that the wall is really happening and will solve all of the problems for everyone who wants to go back to the 1950s except with social media and cell phones in place of the highest marginal tax bracket.)

he saw the donor-funded effort as a stepping stool of sorts for the big prize: a federal contract.

This GOP donor from Indiana is new to me. I think his angle is that Trump will keep trying to push government contracts his way to pay him back for this if Trump wins 2020 because his base turned out over something as dumb as a private stretch of wall. Trump doesn’t care how much taxpayer money might get wasted down the road patronizing someone helping out with the 2020 re-election effort.

Well, sure – if you fall for all that “round earth” boloney.

Plot the Mercator Projection in two dimensions, and 2,300 feet is exactly one alternative mile.

Elitist geographobe!

The ratio of “just under a mile” to a real mile is 2300/5280 = 0.44. If we apply that same ratio to Trump’s claimed IQ of 160 (genius), we get 0.44 x 160 = 70. I like this new math!

irasdad: That is hilarious. Get back to me when 2 plus 2 is not 4, please.

According to unnamed WH sources, it’s actually 15.

Thanks for that insight.
