Maybe Mueller is investigating the wrong colluders
O.K., men. Listen up. Listen to the women. Either walk the talk or stfu. Easy.
The moral highground has been redefined this campaign season, because of who is in the White House.
By this measure, Al Franken’s voice of clarity of thought who is on the right side of the issues vs. one who isn’t and is in a position to wage WWIII, well, you get my point. He needs to stay put.
I hear Kamala Harris is a prima donna. She disappoints me.
you interested in listening to this woman? i am nauseated that the metoo movement is devolving into hysteria and that it will eventually discredit women’s testimonies because of its excesses.
Yeah what if something comes out about a dem in a red state they just boxed themselves in by forcing Franken out
Allegations eh? Suckers
As an older woman who worked in a man’s world, I have personal experience with gender and sexual harassment and know how unfair and devastating it can be. I do not defend perpetrators. However, I question this public, immediate demand for Franken’s resignation. There should be an investigation and Democratic colleagues have every right to speak to Franken personally and make recommendations. But all headlines (even TPM Livewire stories) are now dominated by Franken stories - and we are not messaging against the terrible GOP tax bill, the impending budget deadline, or the Republican legislators who have also been accused of serious incidents. This doesn’t seem like a wise approach to me, and I’m questioning some of the Democratic women who have been my heroes.
Yeah, they’ll just laugh as they go down the line in alphabetical order then go back to their offices and harass their female staffers. Pretty soon they’ll get Klobuchar to resign with six anonymous males will tweet that she looked at them funny.
If most of these complaints turn out to be manufactured by the opposition, gross exaggerations or both, will all of these women resign? Will there even be an investigation once Franken steps down?
They want him out and from what was leaked today…that’s what he’s going to do. Allegation = Guilt = Punishment without a moments process in the mess. OK…but we should all remind the good Senator’s above individually or collectively they’ve not been near as effective in advancing progressive thought as Franken.
Fortunately no ones required to abide by your edicts so we can continue on as if you were not here.
Well I “realize” that your point is entirely one of politics and its seeping into what should be a legal process.
I think he’s already leaked his statement: I’m gone. I’m not sure how axing one of America’s finest Liberals ( that’s what he’s in the Senate for ) makes these women whole but it puts the kibosh on America…including them. This one really has me perplexed. None of the women have made allegations against Franken that are serious. No rape, no threats of retaliation or career destruction. The last allegation, being treated as a straw that broke the back, seems silly and the statement the woman made to Politico all but says she didn’t know if anything out of line took place. She assumed so. OK…sex harassment is an evil but there are degrees of it and it seems Franken’s are on the low end. I don’t see how we make things better on a national scale if our solution is to kill the political party most likely to do that. Franken should be admonished, possibly censured and then people of Minn. should decide the next time he runs for office. He does not pose a clear and present danger to anyone so ousting him without process or forcing him to oust himself, given the nature of his offenses, seems reckless given the collateral damage America will suffer by his loss.
We should review Sen. Franken’s questioning of the Trump clan at Senate hearings. Losing that will be a huge price for America to pay.
