They truly want to roll back federal health and social safety nets.

This is NOT A DRILL people. This is really happening.

The GOP is heartless.

The way he smiled down at that child was a pretty powerful statement, without words, in support of the idea that in a strong, well-functioning society people take care of each other.

Why is it that the most sanity / humanity in this country is coming from late night comedians?

CUT. THROUGH. THE. BULLSHIT.

The mainstream folks can’t be objective, so they’re “centrist”.

God love him. He does more to show the voters what these cuts and policies REALLY mean then any tiptoeing member of Congress worried their donors will run away. Thanks!

Clowns are the traditional pretension-skewerers. For centuries. The only ones allowed to speak the truth.

Once again … You can FAX your reps from your computer or smartphone.

Or, of course, you can call (202) 224-3121 and hope to get through.

As always, be polite.

Fun Fact: Unlike phone calls/voicemails, facsimiles are considered physical communications and must be logged and maintained as official records by law.

I remember reading Shakespeare in lit class when I was in college. It was only the fools and the clowns I truly understood. Perhaps this was because they were the only ones who actually made sense, spoke the truth.

Interesting that you’d have that experience. Shakespeare understood role-playing in life, on every level, being a theater guy to the bone, and there was that license granted to the jesters so sure, what they say cuts through the hypocrisy and misdirection. In Lear, the Fool over and over again tells him how things really are. Not even Cordelia is as honest.
