Discussion: Kim Davis Won't Interfere In Marriage Licenses, But Won't Authorize Them Either

Discussion for article #240438

Well, we’ll see if she sticks to the plan…although I’d much rather see her spend her days before the Rapture (yeah, sure!) in the pokey with meth heads! hah!

According to one source, the marriage licenses will state that they are “issued pursuant to a court order.” I’m pretty sure this is a violation of state law and probably a violation of the equal protection provisions of the US Constitution. It remains to be seen whether Judge Bunning will think it worth his while to take this view.

One thing I give Davis credit for is that she has asked the Oath Keepers to butt out.

Wise choice, lady. Not very magnanimous of you, but wise. So long as the happy couples can get the county judge and/or the county administrator (or whatever he/she is called there) to register the marriages, they are legal.

Man, that effort at martyrdom was short-lived.

Thank-you, Judge Bunning, for upholding the law, teaching this woman a lesson she’ll never forget, and revealing her for the bigoted coward she is.

This account from Raw Story has more information than the AP piece linked by TPM.

Judge Bunning was quite forceful when he warned her and her people not to play games. If this is done and if it does cause an issue, I’m thinking he may consider this “a game.”

Huh?

This woman has spent a quarter-century working at the county clerk’s office and STILL doesn’t know the relevant statutes.

KRS 61.035
“Any duty enjoined by law or by the Rules of Civil Procedure upon a ministerial officer, and any act permitted to be done by him, may be performed by his lawful deputy.”

So can we cut the sanctimonious self-importance crap now?

Rowan county now has the most obvious path to saving $80,000 from its yearly budget. Clearly this clerk isn’t doing her job and isn’t at all necessary!

Darn, and I was hoping for a burning at the stake for that witch! LOL

If she’s not going to do her job, she needs to resign and let someone else do it.

Furthermore, I note that she still refuses to do her job.

Time for Kentucky to do something about it.

Licenses without her name may or may not be valid, but who checks? I’ve been married for nearly 30 years, and no one has ever asked to see mine.

She loves the Lord, and she feels that God’s will trumps the Supreme Court or U.S. law. But none of those things are more important than her $80,000 per year salary.

That phrase will look quite nice printed on Ms. Davis’s prison jumpsuit, too.

So according to that report, she is saying she won’t sign any of the licenses and her lawyers are arguing that without her signature the licenses aren’t valid.

While one doesn’t expect the county clerk to necessarily be a lawyer one would expect her to be conversant with the law related to her duties. Sadly, in this case, expectation will be disappointed.

She claims she is being “forced to choose between her Faith and her Freedom”.
She is WRONG (and a raging Hypocrite.) IF she really had FAITH, her Freedom would not matter, or she would QUIT and get a new job.
She shows in the picture what this is REALLY all about: “Someone LIKES ME!, FINALLY! SOMEONE LIKES ME!”
