Discussion: Kim Davis' Lawyers To File New Lawsuit Against Kentucky Governor

How much state money can they get away with wasting? These are the same selfish pricks who don’t want to feed the hungry or take care of the sick.

That’s one long primal scream.

Time for sanctions on the lawyers. This is getting ridiculous.

Lil kkkimmie isn’t the same as a state/county employee as she is an elected official.

Does the media realize the Halloween tsunami of Kim costumes looming on the horizon? There could be a serious long sleeved tee shortage with national security implications…

Doubtful. How’s anyone going to dress as a slutty Kim Davis? Oh, gosh, I think I just answered my own question.

Two words: drag queens.
A perfect costume for Rudy…

If they have any money it will not go to looking after the indigent or the sick. Far more reasonable in their minds to spend it on prisons or finding accommodation with an elected official who chooses to not do her frigging job.

"Davis altered the Rowan County marriage licenses to remove her name, title and authority upon returning to work on Monday, according to Mihet. She has “grave doubts” about the validity of the licenses issued while she was in jail and those without her name, Mihet said."

Davis lacks the statutory authority to alter the wording on the marriage license.
She’s interfering in exactly the way Bunning told her not to do.

But the licenses issued with the deputy clerks’ signature are valid under Kentucky law.

My dog, woman! Clawing your middle fingers into the judge’s ruling–and your agreement–I see.

Wow. That’s a cool oath.

She’s back at work but she’s not working…

Pretty much everyone who accepts a job, office or commission from any government body in the United States swears or affirms that they will support the US Constitution.

I realize that not every last one of them will have actually read the Constitution, but our Right-wing brethren seem to think it’s a huge imposition to do so, and that they deserve a cookie or something if they do.
Basically, they’re swearing–usually on a Bible–to uphold a document they not only haven’t bothered to read, but feel no obligation to peruse after so swearing.
Tells you all you need to know about the oaths of wingnuts.

This whole issue has turned into nothing more than a cat-and-mouse game to her and a great fundraising meme for her “counsel.” She has willfully disregarded a federal judge’s orders not to play games of any kind. I sincerely hope he brings down the strong hammer on this person and her lawyers. They are attempting to make a mockery of Judge Bunning’s orders–and their agreement–as well as the U.S. Constitution. From a legal standpoint, does she even have authority to change wording on any of Kentucky’s official documents? Not only is she and her lawyers mocking the federal judiciary, she is taking a dump on Kentucky’s own laws.

We’ve been enjoying that very picture for several years now. Never tire of seeing it.

Breaking…Kim’s alphabet soup break spoiled when the words ‘repent moran’ forms inside her thermos cup…

What the hell does a judge do in those circumstances? If attorneys are going to stand there and assert that their belief in whatever sky-friend they worship allows them to disbelieve all evidence they don’t like, or to believe any bogus premise they choose, how does that work?

Is the judge allowed to tell a jury (if present) that it’s bullshit? Or if it’s a case just before a judge, will any decision (s)he makes be subject to appeal if the judgment includes disregard for whatever fantasy the attorney presented as fact?

Is there any chance for judges to refuse to proceed with any trial where the attorney willfully continues to disregard the law and professional ethics because they “believe” it’s okay to do so?

I’m not trying to be a smartass, I seriously want to know if this sort of thing can continue ad infinitum.

That she openly expresses “grave doubts” about the legality of licenses issued without her name or authorization, then actually removes her name and authorization, shows intent to violate the the judge’s order.

But that’s irrelevant if the state of KY deems the licenses to be legal with a deputy clerk’s name on them. The accommodation she’s asking for already exists - a deputy clerk signing and issuing the licenses. Self-righteous zealots are among the most judgmental, dissatisfied people in the world. If there are enough of them in Rowan County, she’ll continue as their elected trouble maker.

But what if “having it both ways” are the sum total of her beliefs?
