Maybe those were his last words, maybe they weren’t. Who knows? We may never know. Could be fake news. So what, we need the oil. And defense contracts. There are going to be 27 million new jobs because of Saudi Arabian weapons purchases. 27 million!!! MAGA!!!
I think the Trump family’s footsie-playing with the crown prince and Saudis generally deserves a mention here. The arms deals are 90 percent imaginary and what isn’t is just talk. And few nations can just switch up their arms suppliers like you’d trade in the Ford and get a Chevy. Supply chains, maintenance, training, all militate against their going elsewhere. Trump is covering up a murder for personal profit, not the national good.
…and meanwhile in Trumplandia, The Weekly Standard is shutting down not because it isn’t conservative and making money but because it is not sufficiently on the Trump Train to completely destroying the reputation of the United States.
The Saudis have been very good for Jared’s bottom line. Having given singularly bad advice to trump for 2 years, Jared reportedly is doing the same for MBS, advising him after the brutal murder to “just hang tight” until it all blows over.
Greedy, amoral pigs.
Khashoggi’s torture, murder and dismemberment
Not necessarily in that order.
“I can’t breathe.”
Precisely the same last words as Eric Garner, killed by NYPD. Though, to be fair, that killing did not seem to be premeditated, as was the case with Saudi hit squad at the behest of Mohammed Bone Saw.
I’m not sure what other options the crown prince has, since he almost certainly ordered the murder. The “turbulent priest” thing rarely happens and few authoritarians trouble to do public penance when it does. But I have to wonder how many people realize what a risky bet it is, playing along with this administration. Yes, they’re the executive branch of the United States government. But it’s still got a very steep risk and you’d think people would start to see that.
They crow about non-existent economic deals for U.S. companies almost certainly to hide the non-public self-dealing they are engaging in to enrich themselves.
What’s worse, premeditation, or an in-the-moment gross indifference to a person’s life springing forth from a total lack of empathy or respect based on their race?
If only someone could get that audio and play it on a loudspeaker outside Janvanka’s DC mansion. Or pipe it into Mel’s Forest of Christmas Horrors.

Actually they’re best friends.
Agreed, not only are both Garner and Khashoggi equally dead, but equally victims of disdain for their fellow man that seems to be a common feature of fanaticism, whether wahabi or maga.
Not sure “covering up” is the right description. I think it began that way, but is evident now to pretty much everyone – “Not saying murder didn’t happen, just sayin’ my pal Bin was in a restaurant with lots of other people at the time, so he couldn’t uh done it. Maybe a couple uh his guys got a little active, but it was self defense, and Bin is takin’ care uh that already. Yeah.”
Well, to the extent that “covering up” implies the effort is successful, maybe not.
The number of people who believe bin Salman’s denials might well be literally zero.
Not to mention the very high likelihood of, um… what’s the Arabic word for “kompromat”?
I was absent the day we learned that.
But yeah, when you go around doing dirty deeds it puts you in the pocket of whoever knows about it.
Prince Bone Saw, Kapitan Kompromat and Commander Bone Spurs walk into a bar. The Commander orders a round of “MAGA Hats” from the Chinese bartender, and…
Oh, you’ve heard this one already? Never mind then.
