In my lifetime, Israel has gone from being a beacon of hope to a synonym for scary and hidden black operations. The transformation has been unsettling. Just hearing the word Israeli in front of another noun conjures up worries about the legality and lethal intent of that organization

I am sure if I lived outside of the U.S. I would probably say the same thing about our own country.
