Discussion: Keystone Pipeline Leaks 210K Gallons Of Oil In South Dakota

Why is this called oil when it is tar diluted by benzene to liquefy it so it can flow through the pipeline. I think the correct term is bitumen. From what I have read bitumen is lot more difficult to clean up than oil.
Sounds like the industry wants us to think it is oil instead of tar when it’s in the ground and oil when it’s bitumen in the pipeline.
Looks like they are winning the propaganda war from what I read - they have everybody calling it oil when it’s not. The oil industry wins again.

I will admit not being up to snuff about the pipeline, but can somebody please tell me why Canada can’t send this oil across its land? Just asking.

How can you all be so heartless and cruel? Not one of you has expressed the slightest concern for the heartbreaking loss of all that sweet, precious oil.

I say NO federal money for them to clean it up! Charge the oil companies, and let citizens sue them to get it. Who cares if it takes years?

Of course, the moguls making money on this piece of engineering crap don’t live there. So, no rush.

They’ll just raise prices to keep their life style going. Call it… oh, supply and demand. They screw up the supply; they demand we pay more.

So a sonic screwdriver wouldn’t do the trick?

Let’s not jump the gun here.

First, we need to increase defense spending to make sure Klingons don’t disrupt the repair work. In the meantime, residents can drink wine.

Oh wait, the grapes burnt up.
