please please please let the Dems take at least one house of Congress, so that a Judiciary committee can call all these “interviewees” to testify to exactly what Trump asked them…and what they answered. (no executive privilege exists for job interviews)

At first glance, it sounds like the guy is recused from all things trump. Which would make him a safer person to have in there than whoever would come in as a stealth replacement.

I thought Berman had potentially provoked “the wrath of Trump” by recusing from the Cohen case and was in jeopardy of being yanked to have someone more pliable plugged in. (based on Rachel Maddow coverage)

Interview or no interview Berman acted appropriately in recusing himself. That the judges unanimously stepped in to appoint him in the interim implies that they believe they are acting appropriately to uphold the functioning of the court system.

Some people do read the full coverage here and elsewhere. Nothing untoward has happened.

Exercising a seldom-used power, the [40] judges of the Federal District Court in Manhattan voted unanimously on Wednesday to appoint Geoffrey S. Berman as the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York, according to a court statement.

And Berman’s been busy.

Mr. Berman has overseen several high-profile cases, including a trial that ended last month in the conviction of Joseph Percoco, a former senior aide to New York’s Democratic governor, Andrew M. Cuomo, on federal corruption charges.

Last month, Mr. Berman appeared with Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, at a news conference in Washington to announce charges against nine Iranians accusing them of carrying out a major cyberattack against federal agencies, universities and companies.

And in February, the Southern District announced bomb-making charges against a former teacher at a charter high school and his twin brother. On Monday, Mr. Berman’s office begins the retrial of Sheldon Silver, the former Democratic speaker of the State Assembly, on corruption charges.

Once he gets his people in there, nothing you can do, folks.

Who’s Miller? He’s quoted several times, and the first time there’s no explanation.

Well, good question. He’s described as “the former federal prosecutor”. Does that mean from the same district?

I don’t know anything about “former federal prosecutor Steven Miller”.
