Discussion: Kerry Won't Apologize To Iran For GOP Letter: 'Not On Your Life' (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #234307

If he could speak a little smoother and faster, and put a little more animation in his face, he would have been President.

Iā€™m always impressed with his knowledge and ability to analyze a situation. But only for about four or five minutes, then I start nodding off.

I fully intend to let them swing by that ropeā€¦ If the Iranians also wish to take a swing at that pinata, so be it.

Who asks stupid assed questions like this anyway?
Should we all apologize for the insane fucking republicans everyday actions?

What do Kerry have to apologize for. Ichabod is a traitor and the 46 senators need to be strict from their office.

When Democrats first enter the Senate, they follow long-standing advice: this body works collaboratively, the more widely spread the power the better the chance of getting anything done, you donā€™t know anyone here, you donā€™t know the rules, you have no seniority, so: Refrain from cracking wise, Donā€™t deliberately show up those with more seniority, Stay out the public glare, Pick up & study a copy of Byrdā€™s annotated Senate history and rules, Get to know the other members, Pput in the hard work especially in committees and sub.committees, and Build a reputation with other senators, not just in your own caucus but through-out the body, for doing the homework and trustworthiness on your voting commitments.

When the new TPer brand of Republicans first enter the Senate, theyā€™re told You got only a very limited time before you get exposed for being a total tool so get busy making as much noise and money as possible til you get primaried or worse.

CBS Newsā€™ Margaret Brennan asked Kerry if he would apologize to the leaders of Iran for the letter sent by 47 Senate Republicans.

Only the ā€œliberalā€ media would ask our Dem Secretary of State if he would apologize to a foreign nation on behalf of Republicans. I wonder if they get tired from carrying all that Republican water.

I find the contrast between Cotton and Franken when he was first elected finally seated striking.

Franken came in, obviously followed most, if not all, of the advice. He has proven to be an excellent (and popular) Senator, and it drives the Konservative Klown Kar crazy (which is why they never mention him anymore, after throwing hissy fits for nearly 6 months).

Cotton came in throwing bombs - itā€™s all he has. I donā€™t care what his record of service is; he is simply the furthest thing possible from an actual patriot. His intention is nothing more than to make a name for himself on the grifter circuit.

Of course, anyone paying attention is not surprised by this - I just find the contrast to be fascinatingā€¦

Tired? Iā€™m surprised they donā€™t drown!

That was exactly my thought.

I wonder if it was Netanyahu who dictated the letter to Mr. Cotton? I wouldnā€™t be surprised.

Yes, Senator Cotton, thanks for clarifying. Iā€™m sure the Iranians needed to know that there are many in Congress willing to pile on additional punishing and provocative sanctions against them and to scuttle an agreement designed to prevent a war.

Especially with all the mixed signals put out by your colleague Sen. John ā€œBomb, Bomb Iranā€ McCain.

Iā€™m pretty sure that paychecks depend on how well that water makes it to the proper destination.

Sheldon Adelson?

Meanwhile, Cotton is worried about the fact that Iran already controls Tehran (itā€™s been their capital for 200+ years, and part of Persia for, I donā€™t know, several hundred, or thousands of years)

As I enjoy relaxing on a Sunday I refuse to watch what passes for political punditry so I missed this, but my question is, ā€˜Did anyone ask this of any repug on these Sunday shows?ā€™ As we all know repugs far outnumber dems as guests so there would have been plenty of opportunity to gauge the reaction of sane repugs, if any exist.

Good point.
