Donald John will do
Not sure on the details but they have the same weird setup in Texas - public school teachers canât collect SS there either.
Gov. Bevin is a HUUGE fan of 45, Pence, AND the Kochs. KY is yet another state where the ALEC agenda is in full swing.
This is True.
According to the governorâs official calendar he spent nearly 40% of his time in 2017 in Washington.
That is only an issue if they have any interest in maintaining a functioning democracy or give a sou about the governed, much less about seeking their consent. Todayâs GOP is well defined by DT, Ryan, McConnell, et al, who demonstrably prefer an autocracy that requires only the consent of the plutocrats.
KentuckyâŚ
We donât need no educationâŚ
Looks like weâre going to court; State AG to sue.
Thank you.
OK, but is that really a bad thing?
Also, I read that Anchorage schools are shut down as well. How will he explain this to his kids?
A pension contract for new teachers that can be changed by the state at anytimeâŚwhat could possibly go wrong ?
new teachers who retire in the future will receive either a solid pension or an iceberg headed out to sea⌠No spoilers here !
Thanks to @established_1781 for your info.
Little Donnie, Trumpito, will stop at nothing to destroy Kentucky.
Besides the public school teachersâ anger, apparently there are rumblings that the state University professors may strike due to changes to the tenure system in the budget bill. Not sure if that budget bill has passed yetâŚ
One word: Texas.
I miss Bert Combs. He wouldnât have a chance in Kentucky any more.
Giving LA and MS a run for their money. Wonât need as many teachers as families move out of the state to protect their childrenâs futures.
Seems to be the same in Maine. My sister receives her teachersâs pension but cannot collect SS survivors benefits on her deceased husband nor SS from work she did before going into teaching.
news alert: the KEA (Kentucky Education Association) has just concluded a news conference concerning the Pension bill. It is illegal for the school teachers to strike in Kentucky. When the speaker was questioned about so many teachers calling in sick today, she responded: (something to this effect) I support the teachers being able to call in sick. They are sick. They are sick of being treated this way.
I did not catch her name, but she is a 4th grade teacher. She laid out the devastating problems that the entire state is suffering due to lack of tax reform. She spoke about many problems in education in the state. She ended up nearly in tears (voice breaking) relating how a small child came up to her yesterday thanking her. There is a statewide rally called for this coming Monday in Frankfort.
Itâs all the state that gave the world Muhammad Ali, George and Rosemary Clooney, Wendell Ford, and Abraham Lincoln among many, many great Kentuckians. Rand Paul, Matt Bevin, and Mitch McConnell arenât even from here.
and letâs not forget Justice Louis Brandeis! Thank you @pluckyinky!
And me, Plucky. Donât forget me. Iâm allowed to criticize.
Wow. Really? She paid into that. Why is that allowed to happen? It comes from the federal government.
