Discussion: Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis Plans To Go Back To Work On Monday

Discussion for article #240297

“Davis’ deputy clerks have issued marriage licenses to gay couples in her absence, although her legal team insists these licenses are not valid.”

Because they have been so darned accurate in all their legal opinions.

…and back to jail on Tuesday?

Am I the only one who sees this pic and thinks “don’t get between her and her Krispy Kreme’s.”

Hopefully someone will explain to Ms. Davis that her name and signature on marriage licenses is not a matter of her personal endorsement of the couple’s union. It’s simply an acknowledgement that they’ve met the legal qualifications for marriage.

I’m not sure how you convince a Dominionist like Davis of that, though.

I’m sure she’s exhausted, what with all the not doing her job for a couple months, then laying about in cell over the weekend. Best to rest up I always say.

$10 says she goes in early and takes all the stamps bearing her name and all the marriage license applications and certificates, piles it all in her car and then leaves, going straight to Liberty Counsel.

Religious Addiction is a terrible, debilitating disease. It causes people to sever relationships, mimic destructive-repetitive behaviors, destroy themselves financially, exhibit delusional behavior, and become emotionally dependent on imaginary “friends in the sky”.
Please help if you can.

How does this woman keep her job? And where can I get a job where I can openly refuse to work?

Wonder if she charges the days she was in jail to ‘sick days’ or ‘vacation days’? Would think it would have to be one or the other, or else they are days without pay.

Move somewhere batshit, either assimilate or manipulate, and then get elected. Poof…living the dream.

That will be fun to watch!

So, we going to have someone standing by with some handcuffs for when she inevitable decides to make yet another stand on Monday?

Or will she get special treatment because she’s a white hick?

She’ll be back in jail soon.

“I love God, love people, and love my work. I hope we will continue to respect these values and that America remains a place where all three can live in harmony," Davis said in the statement.

Amen, sister. I too am tired of God, work, and people getting into fights all the time.

Perhaps. There’s plenty about her to criticize without having to resort to criticizing her appearance, and doing so distracts from the legitimate criticism due her.

I think her appearance is fair game. As is anything else about her.

I saw yesterday on the evening news that this woman was released from jail because the judge noted that the deputy clerks were, in fact, doing the job they promised him they would do – her job! And there she was, both arms thrust in the air, lumbering onto the stage in front of all the rubes clamoring for her appearance before them, and proclaiming her victory.

I take back my earlier speculation that perhaps she was being used by her husband and attorneys. Even if she has been, she’s too much a willing participant in that use to ever be given the benefit of any doubt about her ugly soul.

I heard on NPR today that one of the clerks, a young man, has said that if she orders him to discontinue issuing licenses he will ignore her order and continue issuing them. This is good. It means the kid promised Judge Bunning he would do his job, and he intends to keep to that.

There is no way that she can legally do anything to him for insubordination in this case, although she’ll most likely try. I only hope that there are unlimited folks in the legal community who will back him and any other employees who stand to receive retaliation in any form from her or from anyone else.

This has to stop.

Umm…yeah. She got out of jail on Tuesday. Today’s Wednesday. What’s she doing today?
