Discussion: Kellyanne Conway: I'm 'Very Confident' Trump Is Not Breaking Any Laws

Iā€™m very confident Trump is not breaking any Laws ā€¦
Because Iā€™m a graduate of Trump U law school where they taught us all about lawyerinā€™ and stuff.
Gots me a de-ploma and all

Oh, well that settles it, then. Iā€™m glad we cleared that up. I mean, if Kellyanne, with all of her years of legal experience and from her position as a totally unbiased observer, says thereā€™s nothing going on, well then, clearly, thereā€™s nothing going on. No need for any reporters to dig further.

Well since you said so I guess weā€™ll just wait until you tell us some law is being broken. Thanks for taking this burden on for the nation.

Actually she got her legal expertise from a box set of Allie MacBeal.

She canā€™t con us. We donā€™t matter. Whatā€™s important is that the Trumpanzees all nod their heads saying or thinking: ā€œSheā€™s right, you know that donā€™t you?ā€ To that extent every minute sheā€™s on the air is a win.

Sheā€™s an expert on the conflict-of-interest laws. And she has an impeccable reputation for honesty and frankness.

ā€œIā€™m very confident heā€™s not breaking any laws,ā€ Conway said.

Except Article1, Section 9, Clause 8 of the Constitution, also known as the Emoluments Clause:

ā€œNo Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.ā€

Guess they didnā€™t teach Kellyanne about that at Trump U.

The Emoluments clause of the Constitution says Trump canā€™t receive anything of value from a foreign government. Greasing the wheels to get a building permit sure sounds like itā€™s a value.

Dear Kellyanne or KAC,
Do you see the similarity:

with this

who ended up like this because, well dear we know why:
and honey is the money, power, or fame worth going all the way to here? Please think of the children:

Would these be the same ā€œcomfortableā€ legal counsel that gave the Chump the very bad news that he would be obliged to write a very large settlement check in order to avoid further humiliation in his Trump University scheme? One might wonder when comfort becomes incompetence.

Is everyone familiar with the meme MRDA, for ā€œMandy Rice-Davies appliesā€? Itā€™s a quick, easy, historically literate suggestion that a simple denial doesnā€™t necessarily settle the matter forever since guilty people have been known to deny their guilt. Iā€™m thinking itā€™s gonna be goddamn handy for the foreseeable future.

Just a reminder that these folks are business people and insofar as that is the case, they are predisposed to understand Trump and forgive him his trespasses.

I am TIRED of this BS and itā€™s just begun. Ever since she came on she has used ā€˜Trust meā€™ā€¦ā€˜Take my word for itā€™ or ā€˜I am very confidentā€™ā€¦Cā€™MON MEDIA. Do you freakinā€™ JOBS. I donā€™t CARE what this ā€˜personā€™ thinks. I donā€™t CARE what she ā€˜believesā€™. FIND OUT. RIGHT NOW.

ā€œIā€™m very confident heā€™s not breaking any laws,ā€ Conway said.

In other words, heā€™s breaking a shitfest of laws.

She has no clue. But gee whiz, if Mr. Trump says he isnā€™t breaking any laws, then he isnā€™t. Who cares what everyone else thinks?

Heā€™s a businessman; he is also working to transition. Heā€™s the President-elect and, you know, weā€™re in unprecedented times."
